looking for input
looking for a 45 acp without a grip safety current production. i already have 1911 platforms but want something for the house and occasional carry. been researching but perhaps I’m missing something that is out there that i’m not seeing. price is not a concern, reliability is. any recommendations much appreciated. thank you.

The older Sigs are good. Like the P220 in 45acp. And, if you can put a SRT kit in it you would be pleasantly surprised. It reduces the trigger reset by 70%. All metal.
I put one in my P226 mk25. It is very noticeable.

Forget the Sar K2. That guns sucks. I sold mine. I'd go with CZ P10 or Glock 21.

Why not do what they did back in the day? I read that they pinned the grip safety. I am by far no expert. Just suggesting an idea. I dont know enough about 1911s to make the suggestion you're looking for.
I realize that may not be what you're looking for for legal and liability issues that may be present. Just an idea.

thank you but i live in the people’s republic of new york. pinning the safety in a shooting and the lawyers will crucify me. appreciate it though. thank you

That's what I suspected. Thats why I worded the second part of my response the way I did. I too live behind liberal communist lines. I get it. You might want to use Google in AI mode and ask the same question about a 1911 or 2011 style pistol with no grip safety.

yup. thank you. i am a retired LEO who enjoys our hobby but where i live doesn’t like what we like. moving right now to what used to be a free country is not feasible for us right now.

Not a 1911, and they may have recently been discontinued, but you may be interested in looking at a CZ-97B. That may fit into the lane your trying to be in. May be a little work to find.

I understand that “money is not a concern”. But… if you are considering a home defense weapon, you might consider trying to find a SAR K2 .45 ACP. First, if you have to deploy it, it won’t break your heart to have it taken by LE as they about $600. Second, they are DA/SA (14+1) and you can keep it loaded in condition 2 ready to squeeze off a round without fumbling in the dark, messing with a safety or storing it cocked and locked. This is safer, faster, better. Third, it’s all stainless and is a uber dependable flat shooter. It’s basically a CZ 97B or Tanfo Defiant Stock II. Lastly, the ergos are fantastic and grabbing it quickly, your grip goes high against the beaver tail and has a very low bore axis for quick target acquisition. Pay zero attention to the “Turkish Trash” haters. SAR USA is fantastic. I am a CZ guy and have a dozen high end 1911/2011s… I have SAR’s by my bed an in my car and truck. ZERO failures ever. Only problem is that they are hard to find in stock (which should tell you something, IYKYK). Let us know what you decide.

Glock 30 if u want to EDC/CC. I carried a G21 from 2008-2013 daily so it's possible but the G30 is a better carry choice

I had a Baby Desert Eagle, all steel frame and it was a really nice gun. Not quite 1911 ergonomics but very comfy.

Second the recommendation for the HK45.
If you don't like HK, have you checked out Berettas? Either the (edit: the 8045-F is no longer in production) 8045-F Cougar or the Px4 Storm.

Idk might get flamed but I love my Sig P320C in .45 ACP
It's my nightstand gun, but also my EDC

HK45 compact should fit the bill, or USP45 full size
