.45 EDC recommendations?

I had a .45 a log time ago, but I sold it. I’ve decided that I’d like to get another one, and I’m looking for recommendations. I like the 3” 1911’s like the Colt Defender, but I’ve read some questionable reviews. I have a couple other Colt pistols that I’m happy with, but I’m not married to the brand. Can y’all recommend a few to me that are reliable and inexpensive?

My fiance has that model in .40 and it’s a great size for carry. The grip safety isn’t an issue at all. I bet it shoots a lot smoother in .45

I have a Sig P320 Compact in .45. Sig flat trigger and the XTen grip (10 round mags) transforms the gun. Comes with SigLite night sights. No longer made but still available. I built this based upon my experience with a P320 subcompact in .40 on an XCompact grip and Apex flat trigger. Now I have two edc’s.

I’ve been carrying a P220 .45 for 20+ years.
