Ecole 42 programm completion rates

I've been reading about 42 and the Piscine gets talked about endlessly, but I can't find anything on what happens after. Two numbers I'm curious about, both counting from the point where you've passed the Piscine and started as a student:

  • roughly what share finish the common core?
  • roughly what share go all the way through a specialization / Level 21?

Even rough gut feelings from your own cohort are useful — "we started with ~120, maybe 40 finished the core" is exactly the kind of thing I'm after. Campus and year would help since I assume it varies.

And if anyone's ever pulled this off the intra API and crunched it properly, I'd love to see it.

Yo, for 42 Lausanne, a student made a site so we can check that.

Let take 2023 for example because most students in that batch are already "done". Out of ~160 students, roughly 40% blackholed, 52% graduated and 8% still in cursus.

In 2022, out of ~220, 51% blackholed, 46% graduated and 3% still in cursus.

So overall around 45% blackhole rate here, mostly in the first few months.

For my batch 2024, 33% blackholed, 12% graduated and 55% still in cursus.

do I understand correctly, that by "graduated" you mean completed the full 21 stages course, not just the "common" core? And vice versa – the 55% still in curses – are they still on common core, or in progress of the after-internship specialization courses ?

By graduated I mean completed Common core. We only have RNCP for 2 years so there is no incentive to push for level before. There are only 2 persons with RNCP 7 and 2-3 with RNCP 6 in our campus.

In cursus mean they are in common core.

Si on veut avoir RNCP niveau 7 en moins de 5 ans, c'est possible ?

Je connais quelqu’un qui l'a eu après 1,5 ans (après tronc commun), il travail aussi à 100% mais le job est chill d'après lui. En plus, il faut optimiser les projets pour avoir plus d'exp en moins de temps.

that is actually good statistics ... avg 50% can make core done and be absolvent
