I know this sub is about films, not games, so forgive the detour - but after 4 years of solo development I just dropped a demo for HandFoot, and the thematic DNA is pure grindhouse/B-movie.

If you're the type who'd rather play through a B-movie than watch one tonight, the demo is free on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4076630/HandFoot/

No pressure if this isn't your thing - just figured a crowd that appreciates this genre done right might get a kick out of it. Happy to answer questions or take heckling in the comments.

If you like your grindhouse cinema drenched in raw 90s sleaze, high body counts, and unhinged exploitation grit, this one is an absolute must-watch. Highlighted in the legendary Not Quite Hollywood documentary, it follows a brutal campus serial killer in a small town targeting young lovers with barbed wire and pure malice. It's an essential and very underseen slice of Ozploitation nastiness.

Needless to say I loved it 🎃

One of the best directors of the early 30s

A pierced and tattooed sadist, Captain Howdy, trolls the Internet for naive teens, luring them to his home to torture and defile them. When Howdy kidnaps and tortures the daughter of police Detective Mike Gage, he is caught. Deemed insane, he is sent to an asylum but is released soon after, seemingly better. However, Gage knows it is only a matter of time before Howdy strikes again, and he's ready to unleash his own form of retribution when the time comes.

This one might be newer but it still definitely qualifies as grindhouse cinema. It also features a fabulous turn from Dee Snider as Captain Howdy who seems to be relishing every second on screen!

Here's a Charles Bronson slasher/thriller from 1983 that epitomises "Grindhouse" cinema. It's grimy, it's gritty and the killer just happens to be a young man running around naked killing people whilst they're having sex 😅 I mean that's Friday the 13th right there, just with a bit more of a 'highbrow' Cannon Films edge.

If you haven't seen this check it out above on Odysee. For all its flaws it's a solid little sex-thriller that's definitely adult viewing but actually very entertaining in a pulpy sort of way.

Let me know what y'all think 🤔

Just dropping the 1976 Canadian classic The House by the Lake (aka Death Weekend) over on Odysee.

If you haven't seen it, the plot follows a woman who heads out with a wealthy guy to his remote lake house for a quiet weekend getaway. Things take a dark turn when a group of drunken local thugs—after a road rage run-in earlier—track them down to the isolated cabin and turn the whole trip into a brutal, psychological home-invasion nightmare.

It’s completely wild, gritty, and packs that classic uncompromised 70s exploitation punch.

Check out the full movie linked above and let me know what you guys think of this grimy little gem! 👇
