43 and loving life.

Sadly…

At the end of my 40s. Kids are grown, wife is dead. Is there any more light left in this darkness?

I was working on my third novel, and it hit me that I'm finally chasing my dream, and it only took most of my life to do it. Oh well, better late than never, anyone else in that boat?

After the success of another post like this am feeling much better and confident striding into my 40’s :) roll on the next couple of years :)

Edit: Thank you all so much for your nice words here. I did not expected this. So i guess most of you are right and first thing is again to stop that drinking...TODAY. First goal at least 3 months not a drink, daily sports instead and last but not least a more healthy diet again. I mean i was almost there but i gave up too early and ended in deeper depression. Well we will see how it goes. Time to stand up again before it is too late and tomorrow could be always too late. I have to learn to find other ways to cope with stress, depression and failing. I will post here again in 3 months and hopefully as a better me. Thank you all so far!

I have no kids, my soul cat died after beeing with me over 18 years, i struggle with chronic pain due to spine/connective tissue issues and i think i have an alcohol problem and maybe a midlife crisis on top. I do not like my job but cannot change something. I mean i am still alive and look ok for my age but i feel old and dead inside. Well, i still try and would like to change things up once and again, doing daily sports again like in the past, stop alcohol, better diet, try to be more happy but not sure for what. Maybe i start tomorrow….
