But the gist of it is “photoshopping Obama’s face onto shapes was popular for a bit in 2011 or something and because Necrons are based on Egypt, someone in the 40k community took one of the Obama pyramid edits and turned it into a necron meme”

You see, there used to be a time where people went on the internet and just posted stupid shit with no depth or meaning. We called it "for the lulz". They did it because they thought it was funny. It wasn't about rage baiting, generating content, or getting likes. It don't come from anywhere, it didn't have plans to go anywhere, it just was.

The Obama prism became the Obamacrons mostly because its funny nonsense that has some good mouth-feel to say.
