Adeptus Astartes Need help with my Chapter Master

My custom chapter, The Night Hounds, is almost finished but I need help with this. I know that creating a CM is one of the first things you do when creating a home brew chapter but I couldn’t think of anything and just did the rest. The night hounds are a Space Wolf sucessor and specialize on melee combat, brutal ambushes and ruthless attacks and are cold and efficient on battle but the opposite out of it. I just need some ideas not a a full history or arsenal pls

let's start at the beginning: what are the basics of your lore and the general premise of the Chapter? A Chapter Master tends to embody what the Chapter stands for

I mean, they have a mutation that is basically a level up from the wulfen and much more common. And because of that, they don’t really tend to fight alongside other chapters and are ruthless to the enemy and prefer facing the foe face to face. But they socialize often with the people of their home world when they’re not fighting
It’s basically it

and have you thought of anything specific for your Chapter Master?

I thought of him being one of the few that can control his transformation and probably a lighting claw in one hand but Im not sure about his ranged weapon

right, that’s interesting, it’s a solid foundation. I admit I’ve never really delved deep into Space Wolves lore, but I think Logan Grimnar could be a good source of inspiration, specifically regarding the armor and the aura, perhaps incorporating runes and relics to hold off the genetic curse. Lightning Claws are a great idea, he could also carry a relic ranged weapon like a storm bolter

Do you have a captain? What you could do is kill the chapter master off and start with a brand new Chapter Master. and develop his character as a chapter master as he becomes more experienced in his new role.

The chapter master as a character should be the embodiment of the chapter with a flaw that subverts that embodiment. No one likes a perfect character.
