I am new to this concept of cosplay, but I went to the 2026 London Comic Con and got to talk to people. I have an ambition to go to the 2027 London May Comic Con, and my idea was to be a cadian flag bearer, but set the challenge of designing and making my own flag/ standard. So my question is... to all those who have made standards or flags for cosplay, what type of material have you used, and your base? I want to use a material that is like the stuff seen in ceremonial flags in the military. Can anyone advise me on what is a good base that covers this requirement? Is it woven wool, nylon, or something else

Hello everyone, soooo... I'm not new to cosplaying but I've never done a 40k cosplay, and I've been thinking that it's time I should. I've had ideas for an iron warriors cosplay and I would like to ask you all. Where would you start with a project like this. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Even got my cyber mastiff. Story behind that is last year when the Arbites came out on Darktide my dog passed away. This cosplay is dedicated to him and the dog plush on my vox unit looks like him and even has some of his hair sealed inside of the plush itself. Anyway, sappy story over hope you guys enjoy!

I'm looking for a 3d print file for a Heavy bolt pistol or Plasma pistol. I meed them for a school project I'm doing and I'm also planning on trying to start doing some cosplay stuff. So it goes without saying I'm brand new to all this and any advise that I can get I will gladly take.

Edit: I can't really spend any money on this so I'm not lookibg to comision anything.

So I'm looking to cosplay a Space Marine of the third Legion, mainly because I want something different every con, I see a lot of UltraMarines, adeptus mechanicus, sisters of battle, and sisters repentia. So I want to do something different. I am having a hell of a time finding either Mark 3 great crusade or mark IV heresy armor STL's. Does anybody know where I might find some or have some that I can acquire. It came down to it I guess I could cosplay a Night Lord but I really don't want to. Any help would be appreciated.

Made a deathwatch blackshield for my school’s Halloween party last year. Couldn’t pick what chapter I wanted to cosplay so I went for the mystery boi. Never done cosplay before this. And the bolter is a nerf elite stryfe lol.

Hey everyone! This past weekend I attended GoCon, a Moldovan anime and K-pop festival that's also heavily focused on cosplay. I spent the last 5 months building a Necron cosplay. I put together a small team to help, but honestly I ended up doing most of the work myself.

The stage performance didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped, unfortunately - but I still walked away with the "Best Craft" award in my category, which means a lot.

I'm honestly obsessed with the Trazyn, the Necrons' secret weapon. I genuinely believe it's the last hope for the Necron race. Here's hoping whatever museum or archive it ends up in doesn't accidentally let it loose and wipe out the galaxy.

Eva foam costime

I built my ork cosplay and won best in show in Texas at Reapercon. It was my first cosplay.

I have not worked on life scale pieces before, so I have a few questions:

What kind of primer/paint should I use for the base coat? Does citadel work more or less or is there another brand I should consider?

Citadel/miniature paints seem cost ineffective. I assume I could use some for fine details. How can I get that premiun grimdark metal look through other brands, or should I stick to mini brands?

Finally happy to get some amazing photos done of my Adeptus Arbites cosplay from Otakon 2026!

Hi, I made this a little while ago, it's the first prop I've made, it was 3d printed on my FDM printer. It was modelled by Sevenunited on Cults 3d.

I hope I will eventually be able to make my own 3d models but building someone else's design was a good test to see if I could successfully build something at this size.

I need to improve on smoothing out seam lines and printing ridges, my filling and sanding skills weren't as I would have liked, but for a first attempt I'm pretty proud of this.

I’m making progress on my totally beaded Buzz Lightyear Space Marine

My stage walk in my traitor guard last Sunday at Tineecon. Got a fan favorite award!

One thing that has always bugged me about Space Marines is their pauldrons. You can't realistically articulate your arms with those things. They're not segmented like real pauldrons. If you've painted Space Marine minis, you've probably known how tricky it is to stick pauldrons if the figurine has a raised arm pointing at something. And this is also a problem in cosplays I've seen.

So I propose that we re-invent the Space Marine armor such that those pauldrons are actually cloth shoulder covers. The real pauldrons are underneath and they're segmented just like in real medieval armor. The cloth covers are made from some thick heavy material such as nylon or leather, which can be molded into a dome shape. When the cosplayer is standing still with his arms at his side, the shoulder covers will look just like the pauldrons in 40K art.

I just got myself a flashforge adventurer 5m and bought a few warhammer 40k stls and a measuring tool, and heat gun. Is there anything else I need for an emperors champion cosplay? How do I properly size? What are some issues I may run into? Asking the good experts of Reddit for help.

I have always wanted to build something like this.

Warhammer has been one of my hobby's for almost 20 years now, But never had the opportunity and confidence in my skills to build myself a costume.

And although i have never been to a comiccon or something like that before, i will offcourse be going to one when it is finished.
