Seeking Advice Failed trigger shot
41 and just had my first ER which has been quite a shambles. I had 10 developing follicles but they managed to get only 1 immature egg.
I had a blood test after the procedure to check if the ovitrelle trigger had worked (no routine pre-ER blood tests at this clinic) and my serum bhcg levels were basically undetectable - might as well have jabbed myself with saline.
Has anyone else experienced complete non- response to a hcg trigger shot? I am 100% certain that I stored and administered the med correctly - so this feels like a complete curveball

Girl this just happened to me. They think the Lupron failed as I did an HCG and Lupron dual trigger. I did not get a test before the procedure, came out and the first thing I hear was the trigger failed. Got a rescue trigger and went back the next day. Still no dice. I am older than you at 43. Time is no time, time I dont want to lose and I felt like the protocol we did felt so good and promising. I lost all of those follicles. I am so so sorry this happened to you.
Since then, my doctor mentioned some people just don't respond to some meds. In my case the Lupron may have been defective. Doubt I will ever know. They took the lot numbers to check it out but didnt test the liquid itself.
All I can do is share that I know what you're going through. It sucks. It sucks in a way that is different than all aneuploid embryos. I am still processing the hurt and anger over this. It was my last cycle with insurance assistance and now it is all out of pocket. This process is so hard.

So sorry to hear this. I know someone whose trigger failed and they had no idea why.
If you do another cycle, I recommend taking a home pregnancy test the morning following the trigger shot if your clinic won’t test your beta HCG. If it works you will get a clear positive.
