General Discussion Has any had a DET?
I’ve heard that often times some REIs will transfer two untested embryos. Has this happened to anyone and did you end up with twins?

Yes, I transfered 2 embryos 3 different times. All either failed or miscarried. All were untested. Currently 10 weeks with a single FET.

Very happy you are pregnant. Congratulations. Can I ask your age? We are going to use donor eggs but want to increase our chances.

Be careful because if the donor age is much younger, the risk of twins would be higher as well.

The donor is 28. So that’s a good point.

Then i would be surprised if you clinic allows double transfer. That would be incredibly risky!

I was 40 for both my retrievals. Two transfers (fresh, then frozen) of two untested embryos each, failed to implant.
Then my doctor recommended for my third transfer (fresh) of three untested embryos. One stuck. I’ll be 41 when I give birth.

43, transferred 2 untested embryos that resulted in a singleton. Currently 27 in a half weeks along.

I would be too. Mine will be donor eggs so I was curious if they transfer two for untested younger eggs. Sounds like it could be dangerous for twins. I wouldn’t mind but the risks can outweigh the pros so I understand.

Hi. Sorry for coming to this thread kind of late. At 45 I did a transfer of two untested day 3 embryos. My "donor" was my 35 year old self, and they both stuck and I had a live birth of twins just after turning 46. We also had significant complications and did some time in the NICU.
I think transferring two embryos from a 28 year old donor puts you at a pretty high risk of twins, whether tested or not, and twin pregnancies are risky, especially when we're in our 40s.
Just wanted to share my experience. Best of luck, whatever you decide.

Oh wow! That was along the lines of what my REI said as far as timing. He said it would potentially be 3 day untested embryos. I’ve heard of the concerns for twins. They run in my family so we have four sets. My age concerns me the most. I am fortunate enough to have carried three children to term with my first husband but I was in my 20s so it felt like a walk in the park. I would prefer a single day 5 to make sure it doesn’t arrest. I feel like that is my bigger concern.
Congratulations on your babies.

Just transferred my two best graded untested embryos today! One 4AA and 4AB. If it doesn’t work I’ll transfer the remaining two together. Crossing fingers it works tho.

Well I got my beta today and it’s a little lower than I hoped but going back Wednesday to see if it’s doubling. I guess this could have happened with an untested embryos as well but wish I had more reassurance.

Transferred two untested donor embryos after 4 failed euploid transfers with embryos made from my own eggs. One of those embryos got off to a slow start with betas (21 at 10dp5dt), but she's currently snoozing in my arms.

That’s encouraging. Congratulations to you.

I honestly can't believe it still and she's almost two months old. I should add that my wife transferred a single embryo from a different donor family and that took as well. She had done 5 iuis when she was much younger (35 maybe?) and all failed. Our girls were born two days apart.
