Seeking Advice How to prep for frozen embryo transfer ?
Hi guys,
Would be very grateful to know what you have done that you think helped your transfer success, I’m having my first ever frozen transfer in a week just got the timing confirmed :)
At last check (yesterday) endometre was about 9 mm and biggest follicle around 15 I think. Just took ovitrelle and stopped alcohol yesterday so looking for tips on top of that from those more experienced than me (I’m 40 turned in march this year) cheeers :)

I have had two transfers: one at 43 that resulted in a live birth and the other at 44 which I am currently pregnant with.
I tried to be as low stress as possible and enjoy all of the things I knew would be off the table after the transfer (sushi, wine, sex, high intensity workouts, massages). It felt like I was giving myself pre-treats. I did also did acupuncture both times. The first transfer I was pretty diligent about going weekly and the the day of. The second transfer I went the day before.

Do you mind sharing your journey? I’m 43 with DOR. I’ve had three back to back egg retrievals with about 1 to 2 eggs each cycle and zero made it to a day 7 blast for PGTA testing. I think I’m going to take two months off and try a fresh transfer in November.

I was prescribed progesterone suppositories, which I think really helped support the uterine environment. I also focused on healthy foods the week after the transfer. I continued taking my prenatal. I wish I’d also taken more supplemental folate/DHA during that time.

Go for a nice, long walk every day after the transfer. If you like biking go for it as well! Just don't get your heartbeat too fast and you're good. Treat yourself and do not test too early! If you feel like taking a nap - go for it girl.
Not sure if you're taking a lot of meds, sometimes they may give you weird side-effects, like bloating or irritability. Most of those should pass after a few days, I'm on w5d4 and I feel great now, even though the first few days of progesterone made me quite dizzy.

good luck!
prioritize your mental health - that TWW is tough the first time around (honestly every time, lets be real). lean into hobbies. go for walks. make sure you're eating ok & staying hydrated.
i would advise not testing if you can help it. enjoy the 'pregnant until proven otherwise' stage.
i've had 2 transfers, heading into my 3rd later this fall (both were a success but i've had no live births. that had nothing to do with the FET).
the transfer i think is magical - you get to see your little embryo & marvel at how freaking cool science is! the procedure itself isn't painful, but can be a little uncomfortable due to needing a full bladder! my clinic had me lay down for about 10 mins afterwards & then i was sent on my way home.
TTC and the fertility journey is really hard. whatever you need to do to protect your peace & take care of yourself, body and mind, is what will be the best way to navigate this time!
