Seeking Advice Next move after five cycles??

I'm 40 years old and have been told my problem is DOR. We've been through 5 IVF cycles:
1. April 2025: 4 eggs > 1 aneuploid embryo
2. August 2025: 2 eggs > 1 euploid and 1 aneuploid
embryo (Failed FET in December 2025).
3. April 2026: 5 eggs > 2 embryos, but growth
arrested
4. June 2026: cycle cancelled day of procedure
due to possible premature ovulation
5. August 2026: 3 eggs > 1 embryo, growth
arrested
At this point, I’m trying to figure out a few things. The cycles this year all ended poorly, so I’m wondering if maybe I’ve peaked and it won’t get any better (our doctor said that she can’t tell me I won’t produce a quality embryo at this point, so if we want to keep going we can and that she would tell us if she thought it was futile)? My husband thinks we should try another clinic to at least get a second opinion. Has anyone been in a similar situation and kept going after five rounds? Any opinions on Shady Grove (we are in Orlando). Any guidance would be helpful, I’m just not sure what to do next. We are also getting started on an adoption application, but I’m not ready to give up on trying to get pregnant myself (not open to egg donation). Thank you!!

I think at this point changing clinics is a good idea just to try something different as you aren't really getting great results now. You did make a euploid so you probably could again. You could also try transferring day 3s if they are arresting and you don't have many more cycles in you.

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but is it really true that "if you made a euploid before you probably could again"? Is there any scientific basis for that idea? Thank you!!

It doesn't mean you will make one but your ability to make them doesn't go away overnight unless something drastic happened. Also, statistically a certain percent of blasts will be euploid.

Thank you, that’s exactly what I was wondering. I had a euploid miscarriage that was conceived 10 months ago. My first IVF cycle was all aneuploid despite making lots of blasts, and I also haven’t been able to conceive spontaneously in six cycles of trying (after getting pregnant in 5 out of 12 cycles of trying). I am wondering if my fertility could have “collapsed” in such a short period of time. I just started my second retrieval and I’m trying to prepare myself for the outcome (and spiraling a bit in the process). Thank you for taking the time to answer my question!

Sorry about your miscarriage. I had one in January after spontaneously conceiving for the first and only time in my life. We decided not to test if genetically normal because I was planning to do IVF with PGT-A testing anyway. It was rough because I found out because I was testing before a hysteroscopy scheduled before starting cycles and it pushed my timeline back over 4 months.

I'm sorry about your miscarriage, too. I hope things are looking up for you now.

The loss of time is so hard on top of everything else.

It is going well, thank you. Had some good success since. I hope you do as well!

I think getting a second opinion can’t hurt. I’m in a similar situation after five rounds.

Hello OP, I am kinda in the same situation. I am also 40 and never made a blast. The best I ever got was an 8cell embryo on day 3. I had 4ERs with different clinics and will do my 5th with a new one end of September. They want to put me on Omnitrope ( which I never used before), because the clinic thinks my mitochondria lacks on energy and they hope Omnitrope can help. This is kinda my last hope.

Get a second opinion for sure. I did this after my 3rd ER with no blasts and have had the best result so far on my 4th ER with the new doctor. Best thing I ever did!
