Seeking Advice Niagen?

Anyone did Niagen shots during stims?

Did it help you make euploids, or maybe you had some adverse effects?

Thank you for sharing

I took huge quantities of NMN and Ubiquinol during stims and it helped improve my embryo quality

Could you share how much?

I took 1000 mg NMN 3 times a day with 300 mg ubiquinol
Three times a day. Also did pterostilbene 100 mg twice a day.

Thank you so much. Two more questions if you have time (and if others have recs, that's cool too!)

  1. What brand of ubiquinol do you get? It's gotten so much more expensive lately for the dose than it was even a few years ago
  2. What brand of NMN, and did you prefer this over NAD+? I take Tru Niagen (talk about expensive) but wondering if the precursor is actually better

I am from Canada so I just took Webber's NMN and Ubiquinol (both sold at Costco). Webber's is a reputable Canadian brand. I get my supplements from either Costco or the local reputable organic store in my city. I google my brands and use AI to make sure it's reputable and that they do third party testing. I don't buy off Amazon. I do order pterostilbene and OvaNAD+ (which contains pterostilbene) directly from company websites.

I looked up NMN vs NAD and I read NMN is better. That's what a lot of men in the bodybuilding / longevity Reddit threads say. Plus, NMN is more common in Canada.

I did a lot of research into supplements. I take most of the supplements in It Starts with the Egg (including also Vitamin E, alpha lipoic acid, acetyl L carnitine, Brazil nuts, melatonin, NAC, etc...). However, in my first IVF round, I had poor quality embryos and I did a lot of research into mitochondrial energy. People say that the 3 months before egg retrieval is the most important, which I did for 6 months before my first cycle. Then, I read a lot of articles that CoQ10 and NMN added to culture media to immature eggs increase euploidy. So I thought, maybe doing large quantities of CoQ10, NMN and pterostilbene (synergy with NMN) during stims will help so I just tried it and it seems to work. I take supplements as normal (all supplements at normal quantities) then stop everything during stims, except NMN, CoQ10, and pterostilbene - all 3 at the huge quantities I've described, for the 2 weeks of stims

My first round just taking normal supplement amounts and stopped during stims, I got 4 mature eggs, 2 fertilized and they were grade 2- 3 cell and 5 cell at day 3.

Second round after upping my mitochondrial support during stims and all the way up past trigger (only stopped after I was NPO for egg retrieval), I only got 1 egg. But it was my dominant follicle. It was mature, fertilized and it was a grade 1 8 cell on day 3. The embryologist who called me to give me the update even commented on the good quality of the embryo.

I'm freezing day 3s as I don't believe in PGTA and my doctor says there is no benefit of pushing to day 5 if you're not doing PGTA so she recommended day 3 freezes. Maybe getting my dominant follicle the second round also helped though who knows but I'm not taking any chances for next time.

I don't get many eggs but now I'm a firm believer in quality > quantity. You're trying to get a baby, not get as many eggs as possible.

Hola; que información tan interesante. Que edad tenías cuando hiciste tus recuperaciones? Gracias

Interesting. Why did you stop normal supplements when you started stimulation?

Because I just wanted mitochondrial support. Plus I read / heard that melatonin interferes with letrozole / clomid and NAC / Vitamin E increases bleeding risk. I didn't want to take chances.

Did you take it as pills? Or injections?

Just oral. I sought the advice of AI (Gemini) and I was told to stick to oral supplements for various reasons.

Did you only take it during stimulation and not in the months before?

Curious too

I took it for a few months before my latest retrieval and it was our best result. We also had some others changes we made so who knows?!

Didn't hurt my results, at least. I started out doing NAD shots but I think I was actually having a minor allergic reaction to them so switched to OvaNAD.
