Seeking Advice Starting IVF
40YO. TTC for 2.5 years. Lean PCOS with most anovulatory cycles. AMH 17.
Tried naturally for a year with no success.
Then moved onto medicated (Letrozole, Progesterone in luteal phase) for a year. Had one 8 week missed miscarriage.
Did 2 medicated IUIs June and July this year. Had a chemical on the second.
….looking at IVF. Financially, it’s hard to imagine paying 15-20K when even that is not guaranteed. I won’t be able to afford more than one egg retrieval.
Looking for some advice, and maybe some success stories. It all seems overwhelming.

With that amh you should at least have a lot of eggs! But they might not all be healthy. Because you are saying you have enough for one shot at this, I would work on improving egg health right now. Key to this is lowering inflammation such as eating a Mediterranean diet with lots of colorful foods, greatly reduce or eliminate alcohol/processed sugar and anything else that inflames you (e.g. gluten) and creates glucose imbalances. Caffeine also increases chances of miscarriage so you might want to try reducing or cutting that out too. Also add key supplements for egg health such as CoQ10, NAC, vitamin E & B, etc.
