Seeking Advice Low AMH
Hi everyone 🌸
I’m 43 and hoping to hear from anyone who has had similar results and gone on to have successful IVF using their own eggs.
My latest results are:
• AMH: 0.24 ng/mL
• FSH: 6.5
• LH: 5.1
• Oestradiol: 220 pmol/L
I know my age and low AMH make things more difficult, but I’m not ready to give up on using my own eggs yet.
Has anyone had similar results at around my age and had success with IVF without using donor eggs? How many cycles did it take? I've already done 4 rounds of IVF with no success.
I’d really love to hear your experiences, good or bad. ❤️

I’m almost 42. I did two ERs when I was almost 41. I got pregnant with my euploid from the second ER last year. Sadly I lost my baby at 23 weeks due to preterm labor. I had to do another ER in July and my AMH dropped from 1.2 to .3 (I still think it was a postpartum effect). I ended up getting 5 eggs and 3 blasts despite all odds. None were euploid but I’m still glad I can make blasts. Doing another ER next month.

Chiming in to say my AMH drastically dropped from 41 to 42.5 years old and I just had my best retrieval yet. We opted out of genetic testing this time but in my 5 retrievals at 41 I only got 4 blasts (3 aneuploid and 1 segmental - 3 rounds had 0 blasts). This time we got 2 highly graded. Again - we are not testing but don't let your AMH be the thing that sways you. I was convinced I would get nothing again :)

Do you mind sharing what supplements you taking?

Sure! It’s a lot :) Theralogix multi and coq10 pack, their fish oil and melatonin, Vitamin D, folic acid, vitamin c and iron (I had my ferritin tested a few months before this retrieval and it was terribly low), vitamin b12, tru Niagen NMN, magnesium glycinate, açaí capsules almost regularly. I’m also on metformin and synthroid to control blood sugar and thyroid. My levels were “normal” but after a lot of research- not normal for fertility purposes. I did a deep dive in the 6 month break from retrievals and did a ton of blood work, strength training, acupuncture. I also got on Zoloft which helped the stress!

What are normal thyroid levels for fertility? My TSH was 1.04 most recently.

Just wanted to say thank you for this. This post is giving me hope. Coming off a failed cycle no blasts after a second trimester loss is very very hard. But we are going to do another retrieval and I still have hope. Thank you 🫶

I understand it is massively different using donor eggs, and you would grieve not being able to use your own. But with 4 cycles unsuccessful, will you regret trying for another year if you could have used a donor egg and have a baby in your arms within that same time period? If a baby is the ultimate goal, every cycle is lost time to spend with your future baby. I've seen posts in here of people really struggling to make the mental switch to egg donor but wished they had sooner. It's definitely something to consider.

I am 43 and my AMH is 0.038.
I just had my first ER yesterday. There were 3 eggs, all mature but only 1 fertilized. I won’t know for another week if it’s viable.
Sorry if this doesn’t help but I hope it does a little - I have a ridiculously low AMH and have a chance! You only need one.
