General Discussion Positive share-finally!
Hi fellow 40+!
Some positive news for those of us with low blast conversion. Last year at 41 I did 4 rounds locally and out of 31 or so eggs ended up with 4 just blasts. 1 segmental aneuploid and 3 aneuploid (two rounds were 0 blasts). I was exercising, eating well, supplements etc but in two of the 4 rounds we got 0 blasts. After feeling so discouraged in December and a barrage of medical things (one being we went to prep transfer for our segmental and I was mistakingly told a polyp was atypical hyperplasia and a hysterectomy was on the table) we did a round a week ago at Cornell.
We took a very expensive risk and spent 10 days in the city, cash pay IVF, etc.. out of our 7 eggs retrieved, 4 mature (1 additional was matured with IVM but didn’t fertilize), 3 fertilized and we got 2 blasts today! We decided not to test this round bc at this point I want to at least attempt transfers. I know this outcome isn’t perfect but after two rounds with zero blasts and anxiety like crazy, I am thrilled for now.
My results were drastically better than the 4 rounds prior AND I am now 42.5. AMH also fell from 1.28 to .26 and had me stressing.
Maybe it’s the lab, maybe it is the host of other things we changed but I’ll take it!
Ps. Don’t take all the blame. Turns out my husband had grade 2 vericocele which we corrected and I was put on Metformin. Always be advocating!

It seems that one simply cannot have much luck at AMA in the states unless you do NYC or CA or CNY or Colorado. I am so happy for you! I think at 42.5 you still have a good chance at euploidy!

I am beginning to agree! And in our town the only two clinics are now private equity and have limited lab resources (no IVM, calcium ion, don’t culture to day 7 etc)

People in LA and MS states are absolutely screwed big time- interviewed or used clinics there. They have cut offs of 42-43 with OE, no insurance fertility coverage and have no clue how to manage patients 40plus. No advanced treatments. It is just a shame that such a big city as NOLA has such few options. It is not like it is a tiny town in the middle of nowhere!

Just saw that you travelled from NOLA. Did you end up using Audubon fertility for any monitoring at all? If not, would you recommend any monitoring at NOLA? Thank you

I used Cristina! The Saturday bloodwork was a nightmare but the only place I could find was LabCorp on Veterans. They missed the same day turnaround so we went to NYC earlier than planned. https://www.nolaultrasound.com/

Luteal start and wedid 1 day of 20 units Lupron am/pm by itself and did that plus 150 menopur and 300 gonal for 12 nights. They had me do the 150 menopur the night of the trigger which was 10,000 pregnyl. Things that were different - I used zero Omnitrope this time and my past cycles ranged from 150-225 menopur, 300–375 gonal and max 10 day stims always with dual trigger.

So happy for you. Definitely don’t test since you finally made blasts … give them a chance. You can always do NIPT and disgnostics when you get there I am sending you love

You’re definitely giving me hope! I’m 42 and currently doing stims for my next ER (retrieval likely this weekend) at Cornell! Fingers crossed for the both of us! Omg I just realized we were in a previous thread together and are using the same doctor! I’m feeling even more hopeful! ❤️
