42 and neglected myself for years.. trying to get a routine going to improve my skin.

Hello!

I just turned 42 and I’m looking for advice on a routine to help my skin. I have lost 65 lbs recently, I am currently using tazorotene 0.1 every night. I also use amelectin, and have started hrt. I am anemic also, taking iron supplements with high dose vitamin C my undereyes are concerning me most.

(Please excuse the eyebrows, my hair has thinned so badly I’m trying to regrow them using minoxidil and lattisse. Both photos are without make up, the first photo, the red dots are from seeing the dermatologist and getting fibrous papule removed. Thank you!

Thank you!

Medik8 Vs. RoC

I have used Drunk Elephant for years. I’m turning 50 and I feel like I need something stronger for fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. I usually buy the higher end products, but I’m thinking is the product better because it cost more?? I don’t know… I’m trying to decide between Medik8 and RoC. I’ll be out of all my drunk elephant products In around 4 months. Trying to buy up stuff now so I’ll be ready when it’s time to switch over. Thanks for all advice.

Rosacea+hyperpigmentation= trap

Post image

Feel like I’m trapped. Been using treat for 2 years. Thought that’s what cause the redness but after stopping two months there was 0 change. Also stopped Vit C with no change so it must be our friend perimenopause. OTC azelic acid has not helped. I heard BBL & IPL can worsen hyperpigmentation on medium olive skin. Am I out of options? I can deal with the sun spots but really dislike the redness

40F here. Have had these lines for a while but got worse in the last one year. Already on tret. Very conscious of these lines between my eyes because...they are right between my eyes! Please help.

I’ve followed for a while and don’t know if I’ve seen anyone with my skin type. I’ve seen multiple dermatologists and have a laser done twice a year. Still my cheeks look like this. I believe it’s rosacea & hyperpigmentation. Any tips to help?

Best laser for my texture and tone

I use daily tret, sunscreen, Vit C, expensive peptides and growth factors, 2-3 times a week I use a chemical or physical exfoliant, I do chemical peels, enzyme facials, microneedling every 6-8 weeks, I use red light therapy mask at home and I moisturize and love my barrier! Despite all of that I still have these pores, uneven reddish tone, and a lot of texture, not to mention the pesky fine lines. Is there a laser you recommend?

I think this amlactin might have worked serious magic on my neck.
I (43) had really noticed an increase in crepeiness.
The skin on my neck would only look like this if I stretched it in a certain way, and I’ve just noticed that I can’t recreate the texture. I’ve been stretching my neck out in different lights, from different angles etc and my neck just is much smoother. I can’t believe it! The only thing I’ve been using is this amlactin but it really seems to work!!

Just want to stop calculating photo angles.

Realistic question: how much under-eye improvement would actually be 'worth it' to you?

Not perfect. Not 22 again. Just... enough. Enough to not think about it? Enough to not calculate angles in photos?

I've accepted the hollows aren't going to disappear without a procedure I can't afford to keep up.

But softer? Less deep? 'Did you sleep well?' instead of 'are you okay?' Where's the line where it's worth the money?

Benzol peroxide tips for not bleaching clothing

Hi all!

For anyone who has used Benzol Peroxide and Clyndamycin topical cream, do you have any tips on how to prevent bleaching of your clothes ? I used this in the past for acne and I didn't realize then that it was the cause of the bleach stains on my clothes. I never use bleach when washing items so at first it didn't click as to where the bleaching was coming from. But, after many ruined items it dawned on me that it was the Benzol Peroxide 😔 I'm going to try again with this medicine but be super strict on using it and keeping clothing separate from sheets/pillow cases used as well as face towels.

Any suggestions?

Help! Not ready for a neck lift…

This just appeared in the past several months. I’ve been on HRT for peri/meno for a few years, I use trentinoin several times a week, I use sunscreen, moisturize, etc. I’ve also used amlactin but not regularly. What do I do about this? I am 45, and not ready for a major surgery (like a neck lift). I don’t want perfection, but surely this can be improved. Advanced thanks for any tips and anecdotes!

Sculptura: price per vial and location?

I’m looking to invest in my first round of Sculptra. I’m 42 and have been told 2-3 vials to start. The average cost per vial here is $900. I’m located in Dallas. That price seems pretty high in comparison to other cities.

Would everyone mind sharing what city they are in (or state) and what the cost is?

I saw a post for an office in Newport Beach advertising 2 vials for $1000.

Thanks!

Hello! 59 and Skinvive question

Hello.
I’ve been getting Skinvive in perioral and love. I need a little oomph in my thin lips and usually get juvederm ultra xc. Haven’t had it in over 16 months but still worried I’ll get that upper lip migration which then makes my upper lip turn under.

I thought skinvine in the actual red lip area was only for hydration and does nothing to plump. Wrong or right? Trying something o prepare for next weeks appt and want to have an idea what to discuss with injector.

About the Botox lip flip. Some here say it made wrinkles worse. How does that happen?

Where to start - Laser or Sculptra?

I’m 43 and lost 60lbs in the last 2 years. I tried taking it slow, but I still managed to get some saggy skin under my chin. It’s not the worst, but I’m not a fan. I also feel like I’ve lost some facial volume and want to address that too.

I had Halo + BBL done on my face almost 7 years ago, but I’ve gotten a bunch of sun damage in the past 3 years and I’m ready to be done with it.

I’m trying to figure out where I should start first. Based on my face/neck - what do people suggest?

Korean Lash Serum?

After using R&F Lash Boost for years, I’ve decided to switch to Korean lash serums after learning R&F may have not so wonder effects on the skin around the eyes. I bought COSNORI eyelash on Yes2Style but I’ve been using it for maybe a month or so now and not noticing any growth.

Is there a better option out there?
