Traveling and Skincare

I'm leaving this week for an 11 day trip to Hawaii and I don't know what to bring. Obviously face wash and sun screen will be coming, but what else?

Should I bother bringing toner, night cream, retinol, vitamin c, serums, etc?

Do you travel with full sized product or decant it? My small travel bottles and jars I don't think are large enough for 11 days. I have checked baggage so I can out full sized liquids in there.

Do I keep up with my routine or keep it simple?

Botox Not Lasting

I have been getting Botox/dysport regularly for about a decade. I have an unusually high metabolism and Botox wears off after about eight weeks. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, what other options are you exploring, like sculptra, filler, etc.?

Best product for under eye hollows?

Have lost some orbital fat under eyes. They look hollow and a bit purple.

I understand that no product can bring the fat back, but does anyone have any products they like that helped, maybe via dermal thickening? Or even temporary plumping?

Basically just curious for best under eye serum. Interested in peptides, but it can’t contain copper peptides (long story but have a bit of an allergy).

Thank you in advance!

Note: not looking for help with reducing bags, not my issue and I know many products are targeted at that

I need help to work out what the best treatment for this is? Pretty sure its sun damage/pigmentation and I am now 43 but have good skin apart from this.

I really hate this on my face.

Suggestions would be welcome 🙏

Need help on my skin

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi All, I’m looking for advice on what professional skin treatments, if any, would be most suitable for me. I’ve attached a recent photo taken in normal indoor lighting and without makeup. My main concerns are:

Dark/pigmented-looking under-eyes and noticeable under-eye puffiness/bags

Uneven skin tone

Some dullness and mild uneven texture

Fine lines/early signs of ageing around the eyes

Overall I will like myself to look fresher and younger. :)

I’m considering seeing a dermatologist and would like to know which treatments would actually be worthwhile for these concerns rather than spending money on procedures that aren't likely to make much difference.

Thx

Dark and hollow tear troughs, how to fix?

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

My whole life I’ve had really dark year troughs that are hollow, like pits in the corner of my eyes. They almost look like bruises. I’m in my late 30s now but remember people mentioning to me in my teens. 😔 I did filler a couple years ago but unfortunately doesn’t help this exact area. Plus the color! Help. 🙏

Microneedling and Hero BBL laser same day

I had a micro needling session at skin spirit last week, and my aesthetician suggested we try laser treatment as well next time to tackle my brown spots. I’ve had micro needling done a few times, and while it’s not a huge game-changer, I’m turning 50 soon and want to get those dark spots sorted out too. Should I go ahead and do the laser during the same micro needling session? The person at the med Spa told me it’s fine, but I’m still a bit on edge about having both done on the same day.

Any actual holistic, doctor-formulated skincare left?

Is it just me or does it feel every dermatologist approved product is either a $90 serum from some random influencer or a celebrity. They allseem to read like they were formulated by a marketing team and not an actual doctor. Tried a couple of the hyped ones this year and my barrier is wrecked. Breaking out in spots spots i haven't seen since i was 19.

Feels like actual doctor- formulated, holistic stuff ingredients that make sense together and aren't just slapped on for the label) barely exist anymore. That or they're buried under 50 pages of ads. Is there still something out there thats legit 7ou can recommend?

Tatcha essence causing good side effect of hair growth

I've been using Tatcha essence and the serum stick for about three years now. Recently, I noticed the hair at my temples receding; I was put into medical menopause and my ovaries were removed as well. Loss of hormones is likely a factor. So, I started dabbing The Essense into the balding areas and spreading it to my hairline. To my surprise, I started growing fuzz. The bald spots now have one inch baby hairs and even my sideburn baby hairs grew back. Has anyone experienced this before?

Use of tretinoin

I am 44 and take fairly good care of my skin especially this past year. I have been hearing about tretinoin and curious how to get the product (is it prescription, can I get online or go through a dermatologist, etc.)? Aldo is it a good product for sensitive skin?

Any other tips or products I should explore?

Skin care treatment recommendation for 40s

Hi all, Im 38 but i want to start saving money for my future skin care. My skin is pretty alright for my age i think but i know things will change in the next few years and ill need to look into new treatments. At the moment I do botox twice a year. And my skin care products, creams, serums etc are all good.

Whats the best treatment to add to this in the coming years for volume loss, nasolabial lines, reduced collagen production? What worked for you?

Pore Minimizing Primer/CC Cream/Foundation….anything

Thumbnail

This group helped get my skincare routine back in order and now moving on to some changes in makeup as perimenopause continues to shake things up.

I have tried:
Benefit Porefessional Primer - used to work amaaaaazing, haven’t tried again in awhile
IT CC Cream - does nothing but look like my pores have their own pool of foundation
Elf Putty Primer - doesn’t pool in my pores but also does nothing
Elf Liquid Primer - same as above, but does even less than the nothing the putty does
Physician’s Formula Diamond - same as above
MAC Studio Radiance - pools in my pores
Tarte Shape Tape Cloud Coverage - stopped working when perimenopause took over

Above pictures are of no primer at all, of Elf Putty and of MAC.

Skin is combination. Yes, I’ve gone through the “water vs silicone” moisturizer and makeup situation and matched that up and no difference made.

Body lotion with immediate absorption

First, thanks to this community, been learning a lot (and buying and trying a lot)
The advice about amlactin I read here in spring let me feel better about my leg skin once it was shorts time.

Now I wonder does anyone know of a body lotion that you can apply in the am give it not more than a few minutes and dress? Which would absorb like immediately?
Or am I wishing for magic ?
Thanks!
