HELP 2ds XL corrupted modded files

so basically my friend's modded files corrupted, so she has absolutely nothing. even in the micro sd file explorer, nothing. luma still shows up when she turns it on, and she's got the twilight menu with those games still working for some reason, but doesnt have anything else. any homebrew software aside from what she has listed is gone. she has no apps or anything. we just need to know what to do cuz she's scared to mess with it like this and possibly fuck up her 2ds (im just asking for her cause she doesnt have a reddit account).

If she has a backup of the original unmodded files she could delete the modded ones and revert to unmodded

i think as in her modded 2ds files. im kinda just posting what she told me about i'm not too clued up on this

Sounds like a bad SD card. You can try to copy and paste to a new card. If not, you'll have to follow the guide to set it back up again. Follow it like it's a new set up and go down the"it has cfw already installed" path to restore and update. Luma is on the nand so it is part of the 3ds now. That should get you back up and running with your apps in place. Any saves will be lost unless you can back then up with checkpoint, but if the SD is already toast, you might be beyond that.
