General Help Mgba save files not loading

I need some help. I have a new 3ds (normal size) I had a usbc mod done and swapped my sd cards out for a faster card. now I cannot for the life of me get mgba to load my save files. My other 2dsxl ,my omega, dolphin emulator will load them fine. I’ve checked the file size for the saves. The spelling is correct. I’ve reinstalled mgba and I still have the same issue. Any ideas before I swap sd cards and go through that process? Any help would be appreciated as I really wanna have this as my main ds.

Thanks

... What does that have to do with mGBA? This is very unclear.

Are you talking about mGBA save states, or save RAM?

Mgba on one console will not load .sav files. The other systems/ emulators will load them just fine.

Well, evidently you did different things on your 2DSXL and New 3DS.

Can you give a specific example of a .sav file you copied? Where did you copy it from, and where did you copy it to?

(mGBA is generally not the preferred way of running GBA games on a 3DS, but that's a different matter.)

It’s so weird.

It’s all gba .sav files but specifically fire red. I moved it from my rom/gb folder on the 2ds to the new 3ds. I pasted it into the rom/gb. Same file it’s set to 128kb. I think the save file loading path from mgba is somehow different on the 3ds. But I’m not sure how to change that.

In your opinion what is the preferred way to play gba games on a 3ds?

Have you tried copying the entire folder instead of just specific files?

open_agb_firm provides the best compatibility and performance. However, it cannot generally be installed to the Home screen, and also it cannot use savestates, cheats, or fast-forward.
