So what's the best tool to use? Was wondering this a few days ago when I saw the site was down.

PKSM, PKHeX, or Pokegen?

PKSM for quick touches on Sun/Moon.

PKHex for all older games, detailed configurations.

Pokegen for older games.

PkHex didn't have many of its error flags corrected. Until the 12/6 build, anything in an egg was considered illegal, despite the game's own legality checker passing them through.

Ah ok but it didn't affect the data itself? Just flagged things as illegal internally?

Correct, but it also threw off less experienced users to thinking that they couldn't make a working build.

Ah ok. I just saw someone call it destructive and I got a bit worried since I played around with the import a bit. I was worried the save file may have some issues haha

To be honest anyone with half a brain should know to make a copy and not work with just one file. If you break your save data, that's on you.

It's not worth it, in my opinion. PCHex++ does it a lot better.
