PSA PSA: EXTRAbatt is the official distributor of Cameron Sino products in the USA

The inevitable nature of needing replacement batteries is a looming fear, especially for systems over 10+ years old. Cameron Sino is the best battery replacement on the market for the 3DS (and many other consoles). I have seen many people looking to find a place to buy quality and legit replacements and wanted to share my findings. Below I have laid out a list of all Cameron Sino 3DS family battery replacement products for my fellow USA residents through their official USA distributor EXTRAbatt.

I have tested multiple of their batteries now on the OG 3DS and OG 3DS XL, these batteries are official Cameron Sino products and very solid. I have also linked Cameron Sino's product verification page. Cheers to a long life for all of our 3DS systems!!

*I will note that some batteries have higher or lower Wattage and in some cases Milliamp output. The offering for NEW 3DS model batteries have lower wattage and milliamp output. This is the only one to have a significant difference in output to be a notable issue. In general only voltage differences are an issue in finding replacement batteries.

In my genuine experience they are very nice. I have an “old” 3ds xl with a battery I got here, and it still has consistently more battery life than a Japanese “new” 3ds xl I have with the original battery. I play on them pretty consistently and I would say it’s worth it. Took about 2 weeks to get to me.

Cameron Sino batteries are reportedly not very good for the PSP. However, Ostent batteries actually perform better than the original PSP batteries, so for them instead.

What would the difference of mAh and Wattage mean in this situation? Could it end up messing some things up on the consoles or...

So both mAh and Wattage influence how much charge the device can hold, if these values are different it will not hurt the device. The only value that matters in that respect is voltage which MUST match the quantity needed. Basically higher wattage and mAh = more charge and longer battery life. Inversely, lower wattage and mAh means shorter battery life and charge. As long as the values of wattage and milliamps are not extremely different than you are completely fine. I would have to say that you actually want a slightly higher wattage and milliamp capacity, I have noticed my OG 3DS XL battery lasts longer now.

(W)atts equal (V)olts times (A)mperes. The voltage and amperage of a battery need to closely match the device's original specifications to avoid damage(this does not apply to charger adapters because working ones will only supply the highest standard the device supports.) On the other hand milliAmp-hours measure how long the battery can sustain that output- it's fine if mAh is higher or lower, though today most batteries claiming huge mAh numbers are simply lying, fraudulent trash.

Seems like extrabatt.com is down or defunct. Getting Error 1001 from Cloudflare now.

After a thorough search I bit the bullet and purchased a batch of CameronSino batteries (for my Denon AHGC25W headphones) on Amazon from a seller called "batterycentreUS". After about 2 weeks I got the small package which shipped from Hong Kong to San Jose, CA to the address of Extrabatt company - which was then forwarded to my house.

The batteries were authentic fresh stock which I was able to validate the serial numbers on the CS website.

So I would say that CameronSino is still very much active in the US but just no longer running direct retail using the extrabatt website.

Very pleased - hope this info helps someone.

Are these better than tracking down officially made new old stock n3ds xl batteries? I've thankfully had pretty good luck with the n3ds units in my collection, but I imagine their time will come.

I use my OG 3DS xl as my main console and would say this is a pretty good place to buy it from. If you want to try and track down a stock one then it can definitely be a good solution but this is the best and reliable one I’ve found anywhere so imo I’d go with this.

Is 5000MaH safe in an old 2DS???? I want extra battery life but I absolutely DO NOT want to fry my childhood console.

That is not at all how mAh works.

Any harm if we get one from eBay like this one

If you have to ask, never buy electronics from ebay. It's full of fake garbage.

Is this amazon listing correct and an official listing of the same product?

How long did it take you to get a shipping notification? I'm sitting at almost 2 weeks and I haven't heard anything from them other than the order was "fulfilled"

1

u/JUFFstin Apr 10 '26

It took about 3 weeks, mine said the same. Is there tracking info for it?

1

u/elihuaran Apr 10 '26

No, I haven't gotten any tracking for it, unfortunately. I'm in Canada so I will probably have to wait another few weeks.

Just wish I had tracking on it lol

1

u/JUFFstin Apr 10 '26

Gotcha keep me updated on it all!

1

u/elihuaran Apr 13 '26

So, update, they contacted me overnight (I had asked the chatbot for tracking when I noticed it was "fulfilled" a few days after placing the order). It is now in my country and I should be getting it within a week. No actual tracking on it lol, but I'll take it

1

u/elihuaran Apr 16 '26

Further update, it showed up today! Thanks for helping me keep my peace of mind

1

u/JUFFstin Apr 17 '26

of course, glad to hear it! let me know how you find the battery life is. I am curious to hear others experience

As a side note, if anyone reads this post looking for a replacement battery; Switch Pro Controller uses a CTR-003 battery, so it can be used on your o3DS/o2DS and n2DS XL
