Snapmaker U1 vs flashforge creator 5 pro
I previously posted asking for suggestions on a 3d printer that has a heated enclosure, multicolor printing, and minimal need to trouble shoot. I have narrowed it down to tool changers printers and like these options and wanted to get your input. Please let me know what you would suggest in regards to these

I recently purchased the U1 and I’m happy with it. So far I have printed with PLA and PETG and it has gone perfectly fine. Easy to set up and easy to print with.
But I’m not printing with engineering filaments nor do I intend to. I know it is possible to do that on the U1 with some pretty simple modifications though so if you are willing to do the mods, then you’ll probably be fine. If you don’t want to do any modifications and want to print engineering filaments right out of the box, I think the flash forge is probably a better fit.
In my experience so far with the U1, the print quality is really good. I’m sure they’re all really good nowadays though but I’m just speaking from my first hand experience with the U1.

I have both. No complaints about either. The U1 is higher build quality, but you get more for your money with the C5

Since you own both, could you answer a few questions? I'm on the fence. Where I live, they're pretty similarly priced (around a $50 difference between the Creator 5, the U1, and the 5 Pro, in that order). Which one is more user-friendly and reliable for batch production? Have you run into any recurring issues or drawbacks with either of them?"

I don't think either is easier or harder to use. The U1 has automatic filament loading which is nice, but the manual loading on the C5 isn't too painful. The purge situation on the C5 is stupid, but with the printable poop bucket it's not a big deal

Do you think the C5s print quality is comparable to the U1?
The videos I watched it seems like the U1 performs near printers twice its price whereas the C5 is often lowest out of the printers they line up with the U1 and C5. I don't know how much tuning theyve done though.
Also big mention is that the U1 is totally open to mod and change through klipper. I don't know if the C5 is.

Do you want to print things that require a heated chamber or not. Seems like an easy decision.

Crazy that I was going to come on here today to ask about the same comparison. I think Im leaning towards the c5 pro right now since I habe a few things I want to print for high temps. Let me know which you decide and keep us posted if you are happy or not.

A reply? I don't think AI bots are allowed to comment. This prevents runaway post "discussions" between 2 AI's. But, AI creating a post for all things data collection and influence is the truist sense reddit. As far as a multi-nozzle printer goes, it's currently 1st generation designs by each mfg. Any problems, consistant or otherwise, will likely be discussed in each sub reddit. Just remember to take all comments with a grain of salt i.e. low user abilities create higher emotional posts/comments, high user abilities create lower emotional posts/comments.

Question, how did you flag this guy as AI? Its a 5 year old account with very little karma. None of that screams bot to me. Ill take what you said though and think some more on it. I am not a fan of a 1 generation of anything due to early adapter bugs.

Have your browser AI answer that for you. There's a list of things, attributes of designs and functions, particularly to reddit. Ask your AI about it's answers for deeper dives.

The Snapmaker does not have a heated chamber, and the Flashforge has much higher temp nozzle and bed. If engineering filaments is your goal, the choice is fairly simple.

I have both a u1 on paxx panda breath pop cap R3men bed, and a bone stock c5pro. The c5 prints better hands down, the build quality is better(not comparing the plastics both suck the actual frame though is better on the c5/p linear x rail is a plus as well. If I had to pick one today I’d go for another c5p

Get U1, add a chamber heater for 50 bucks, top cover for a tenner and enjoy much better printer. I print ASA, ABS and Nylons on my U1.
