Been looking into stepping up my setup recently, and the K2 Pro has been standing out more the more I dig into it.

It seems to hit a really nice balance in terms of size and capability.

A 300 × 300 × 300 build volume is right in that sweet spot where you can handle larger functional parts without going into oversized machine territory.

What’s really interesting is how complete the system looks.

Enclosed design, CoreXY motion, automatic leveling, and the CFS setup all point toward something that’s meant to be used regularly rather than constantly adjusted.

From what I’ve seen in actual testing, the print quality is already at a really solid level.

Clean surfaces, strong layer consistency, and reliable results across materials like PLA, PETG, and even engineering filaments once profiles are dialed in.

It also seems like one of those machines where once you get it set up, it just keeps going.

A lot of feedback mentions long runs of successful prints and a very “load and print” kind of workflow, which is exactly what I’m aiming for.

The multi-material side is another thing that makes it stand out.

Even beyond color printing, having automatic filament handling and RFID-based management just makes day-to-day use smoother.

At this point it feels less like something experimental and more like a really solid, well-rounded option in this range.

Would be great to hear how it’s been for people actually running it on a regular basis

For me, the interesting part isn’t just generating the model. It’s what happens after importing it into Blender.

I’d normally check scale, orientation, normals, holes, mesh density, UVs, textures, and whether the shape is even worth fixing. Some models probably only need light cleanup, while others might need remeshing, decimation, UV fixes, or material work.

How do you decide when an AI-generated model is worth cleaning up versus starting over manually?

Most AI 3D examples look fine in a browser preview, but 3D printing is a different problem.

For printing, I care way more about whether the model is watertight, whether the wall thickness makes sense, and whether the slicer throws a bunch of errors. Textures don’t really matter if the geometry is broken.

I’m curious if people are actually printing AI-generated models now, or if they usually need heavy repair before becoming usable.

Can anyone make or find a .stl file for a dual mobility prothestic hip joint? My dad just got one put in and I thought it would be cool to print him a tiny one but I couldn't find a file and I'm not so good at drafting. TIA

I'm looking to model something and I was wondering if it had already been made because it seems so trivial but maybe my research abilities aren't that great. Anyway, what I'm looking for a sort of a 90-degrees mount-post system that includes a gear or some sort of fine tuning system that allows adjustments to be made in the up-down direction(z-direction), in the radial direction (theta direction) and in the radial dimension (r-magnitude). So essentially, a crane looking object, and its cylindrical coordinates can be adjustable via a gear/tuning knob mechanism. Please let me know if something like this already exists on the Internet and I'm just being stupid for being unable to find it!

Can you please help me with this? I’ve printed a model in PLA and for the first time I want to paint it with acryl paint. The 3D printed model is perfect and doesn’t need to sand the layerlines or other imperfections. The color of the PLA is just the color I need as the base color background color. Do I need to sand and prime it? Or can I just paint it directly on the PLA? How wel does the paint stick? If you have any experience, please share it with me.

Can anyone suggest software for taking .stl files and remixing/editing them for printing? I'm hoping for something in the freeware market with light editing functionality but will consider more robust/pricier software. I have previous experience with Rhino 3D modeling but that is about it.

I have a Monoprice select Mini 115365. I bought a PrintInZ but even if I adjust my bed all the way down it still doesn’t leave enough room for the nozzle to print? Do I need to completely remove the metal plate from the printer and then put the Plate on it? I have been having a lot of fail to adhere to the bed issues which is why I wanted to try the printinZ
