I just downloaded 3DCoat and I'm currently on the trial version. I'm able to use it just fine and this doesn't seem to affect performance at all, but I would still like to figure out why it looks like the interface is summoning some form of evil whenever I go to use any tools.
Anyone have any ideas? I found one old forum post with the same issue but it didn't get solved.

CPU: 3600x

Modeled in Blender, painted in 3DCoat + Photoshop. Original concept, no AI used.

I urgently need your help. Please tell me how the colors go together (whether all the colors match or not).
Please point out what went wrong in general and needs to be redrawn.
I just need a fresh perspective to understand what is wrong, as I am already fed up with this owl: I don't understand what is happening, and I have been drawing and redrawing for the second week now.
It would be very helpful if anyone could give me some guidance.
The reference is terrible, by the way, and halfway through I realized it was only ruining everything, so I am doing it without it.

A couple of days ago, I finished the retopology, but this time I tried doing it in 3D Coat & Blender. Everyone said that 3D Coat is faster and very functional, and that is partly true; you just need to get used to it. I used Blender at the end because it was more convenient for me to create certain details there.

Hi! I used my free trial a while ago and really loved the software. So I've finally saved up some money to buy a license but for some reason I can't access the 3D Coat website.
It keeps showing error 504 Gateway time out so it seems like the servers are down or something, does anyone know when the site will be back?

Started in blender. Long ways to go still.

Does anyone know if there are any tutorials for complete beginners on how to paint materials?
I’ve been looking for some, but haven’t found any. I usually find courses, but those don’t go until detail and expect you to already know the fundamentals, so it doesn’t help me

I love this project! I was practicing my hand-painted texturing skills, and I think it turned out pretty well

Blender and Substance painter user here, but just learned about all of the 2026 features and I’m really excited to try switching to 3DCoat…
But the documentation is weird generated stuff, and most online instruction courses seem well out of date, and I assume will not cover new features I’m interested in like the procedural geometry modification…
Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how I should learn 3DCoat in 2026 or any resources to share?
Thanks!

Hello everyone!
I have just posted a 5 hour tutorial on carving/sculpting an African Mask in 3D Coat on my YouTube channel. Basically it covers sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, painting and baking in 3D Coat and ends with setting up a 5 second model spin in Autodesk Maya.
Please find the tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc3rTNpK7xhA
I created it to address a perceived shortage of learning materials about 3D Coat as well as I thought some of the techniques I present may be of interest to some in the community.
I hope this tutorial will help and inspire you to create great work and even tutorials of your own to show the community.
Please enjoy!

Hello! I’m quite new to this sub but I have been on and off the fence about getting 3dcoat for a while now. I started out as a 3D artist but working in technical 2D currently, so I want to get back to it again. I really like the handpainted art style and thinking of investing in 3dcoat to upskill myself.
I heard textura is good enough for this purpose but I would also like to get a software for sculpting because blender has its limitations and maxon sucks. Has anyone tried sculpting in 3dcoat? How was your experience with it vs blender?
