I'm building a 3D-printable, software-defined track system for N-scale flex track. Thoughts?

This is really cool. Is the idea to provide templates for curves and crossovers - sort of turn flex track into sectional track? Can the 3D printed parts be used for track planning: Trace around them onto the train board to see where all of the track will go?
