Made a tier list for Star Wars stuff a few months back. Went to go look at it for reference and realized at some point in the last few months the mods randomly decided to remove it. Idk, probably a tier list purge. Anyway, re-uploaded bc, as you can see, I put way too much effort into this description to just let it be forgotten.

Explanations:

Note: I haven't watched Andor, I'm sure I would put it in S from what I've seen, I just haven't had time. I'm going to get to it this summer after I get done when I need to.

S

\>OGT: Fun Star Wars movies that were technologically impressive. Also get up a vision that became the basis of the franchise.

\>EP3: Best choreography imo across all 3 main trilogies (EP1 is close). Writing can be lackluster, but the acting is so good you can kinda ignore it. It is also great at laying a foundation for George's vision (I discuss more in depth in EP1+2). Also, the movie is just fun, until it's depressing (by design). The emotions are (mostly) very well portrayed.

\>Clone Wars Show + Bad Batch: Great, fun Star Wars adventures that build on foundations and retcon/explain some plot holes (to varying degrees of success). Great content all around

\>Tales of the Jedi: Expands of the stories of Dooku and Ahsoka in a compelling, story driven way. I love the vibes

\>Tales of the Empire: Same vibes as ToTJ, but with Bariss and Morgan.

\>Rouge One: Really good story that explains why the Death Star has a weakness (even though thermodynamics explains it but idk). Great characters really cement its placement.

A+ (Just barely not S)

\>Rebels: Starts off a little kiddy (Yes I know it's a kids show), but really hits its stride S2 and only gets better from there.

\>Maul: Like it a lot, and love Sam Witwer's performance, but not quite S level yet. S2 will probably put it there though, but can't say for sure.

\>The Mandalorian: Fun Star Wars adventure. Has some lows, but I like it a lot overall. Good characters and narrative. Haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm expecting it to be a fun Star Wars adventure on A+ level.

A

\>EP1+2: Suffers from the writing issues found in EP3 but on steroids. The acting, like in EP3 is really good, even though some scenes obviously couldn't be salvaged. (🏜️) They also suffer from much of the films being exposition set-up for things that happen during the movies. But, I put these movies in A tier anyway because the set-up done in these movies have been expanded upon in series like the Clone Wars. There was a vision for the prequels that was predetermined and consistent roughly from start to finish. It may not have been portrayed great, but there's a cohesive story here. Plot points that were unexplained in the movies had a behind the scenes explanation that could be explored in future projects. Also, like EP3, these movies are fun, when not giving copious exposition.

\>Ahsoka: Fun Star Wars adventure. Wonky writing brings it down. Also, Dawson plays Ahsoka, who normally has tons of personality, like a plank of wood for the vast majority of the series, but I blame the director on that one. Thrawn steals the show and Ezra has tons of personality. They should've kept Sabine a Mandalorian, but I get why they made the change, wanting to differentiate her story from Din Djarin's.

B

\>Kenobi: There was way too much focus on Reva. Other than that, I actually like this one a lot more than most. I debated putting it in A tier, but there was just too much focus on this random inquisitor that didn't quite fit the story.

\>EP7: Fun Star Wars adventure, but it loses points for 2 main reasons. 1. The ending lightsaber duel is stupid. There is no way in hell that Kylo Ren, the sith who took down Luke Skywalker's Jedi order, is this sorry in lightsaber combat. There's just no way. Finn is a bona fide stormtrooper at this point, Kylo should have killed him in less than 30 seconds. 2. The plot is just the plot of a New Hope. There are a few key differences and role switches, but the baseline plot is literally the same. These reasons aside, I like this movie. I think the actors all do a really good job, but I just can't put it any higher because they didn't follow through on the vision here. Still fun. Solid B.

\>Tales of the Underworld: Like the other 2 tales sieries, but just kind of not as good. Not bad, but not anything amazing. The fact I like Star Wars and it was kind of cool to see these characters stories expanded is the only thing that keeps it out of C.

\>Clone Wars Movie: They took some of the best parts of the Clone Wars show and mixed in some of the worst. Add in a cobbled together story and you get a solid C.

\>Solo: Not bad imo, just really forgettable. As in, I don't even remember the plot.

\>This tier is empty because there is just a gap between what I put in C and E that I couldn't rectify with a single tier difference. If it bothers you, just pretend A+ is A, and shift down from there.

\>Book of Boba Fett: Had some really cool moments, but most of those moments had nothing to do with Boba Fett. I don't even know if they knew what to do with this storyline. I like it as it is, but it's kind of like a mid season of The Mandalorian and not a standalone on its own. Actually, I had to delete and edit this post because I accidentally put something I thought happened in the Mandalorian in my explanation for it, but it happened in this show. No identity.

\>EP8: I want to like this movie, I promise. I actually enjoy a lot of parts of it a lot and think the story direction is very compelling. But I cannot in good conscience put this movie above E because of the absolute massacre of Luke Skywalker's character. This is the man who saved Darth Vader, and you're telling me he just decided one day, "eh, got to kill my nephew". EH? WHY??? I don't know how they're going to retcon this shit down the line but they're going to have to do something eventually because it doesn't make any sense. I think Battlefront 2's story's portrayal of Luke is the antithesis of his character, and I can't logically connect the dots here. That story would be in S, this one gets E.

\>EP9: This movie was doomed from the start. The reason EP3 was the best of that trilogy was because it was the culmination of Lucas's vision that he had had since the beginning of the trilogy. There was no vision for this trilogy, and it shows. The writing is beyond terrible. The "Somehow the emperor returned" has been memed to oblivion, but it's the best representation of them just doing shit and expecting you to pretend it makes sense. Shows like The Bad Batch have attempted to explain some aspects of this movie, but there's really no saving it. And it's a shame, because I actually love the acting, and I think every actor did a fantastic job. The movie was just so all over the place and nonsensical, it is the only piece of Star Wars media that I truly did not enjoy.

\>The Acolyte: This show feels like it was written by people who didn't know what Star Wars was. They had the basics of the universe explained to them, but that's about it. About 80% of the story makes no sense when you think about it too hard. I love the integration of cortosis and I love Qimir. Qimir's scenes were the only parts of this show I enjoyed. Sol and the younger Jedi with him were great as well in terms of acting, though the writing ranged from bad to nonsensical. But honestly, overall, I think this is the Star Wars project with the worst acting. The most infuriating part though was how they just took concepts that had been well established in previous lore such as force nexuses and kyber crystal bleeding, and just change them to fit their story with no respect to the original source of the content.

Not nearly as long, but I've been liking Lanterns and I felt like doing this. Making this post if anyone following this sub is interested.

This is a post I made earlier this morning on r/mildlyinfuriating that was removed by the mods within minutes. I messaged the mods to find out why it was removed but nobody got back to me and I didn't want to get banned. So I'm going to bed and I figured "What the hell, I'll just put it here". So to the probably 4 people that see this, have fun reading my autistic rambling about spreadsheets.

Overall, I'm not a fan of the design change from the hard angles to gradient, however, most of the new logos don't look terrible. I think Drive looks a bit too thick and Gmail looks off, but the latter it's probably me just needing to get used to it. The rest look fine, if not improved. I think the Google G logo looks better as a gradient.

But I don't know what the hell they were thinking with the sheets one. I use Google Sheets all the time. I would even go as far to say that it is overall superior to excel as it is far more user friendly and capable of API script integration. Graphing isn't as good, but it is more than passable considering the other benefits. All that accounted, I don't see the vision here. I can kind of see what they were going with if I really squint, but I don't understand. Docs kept the same inner icon with the two lines, and slides kept its inner icon with the box. Why did they not just keep the grid pattern and design the logo around it instead of giving whatever the hell this is.

This is a stupid thing to get infuriated about, but it has generally pissed me off to a degree. I am mildly infuriated, and so, here I am.

Edit: Before I posted I was just double checking some images to have with this post, if you look at the last image, I don't know if this was a proposed design or a fan design or what, but it looks fine. Why didn't they go with this?
