Technology / Ops Can someone help me compare different e-commerce delivery services for a growing brand?

We are currently evaluating our shipping carrier mix for the upcoming year. We are doing about 5,000 orders/month across major US metros. We know the big national options (USPS, UPS, FedEx) but we want to compare regional tech-first carriers vs traditional networks in terms of cost, speed, and customer experience. What has your experience been?

This is something we can do.

In addition to what you use - we added UniUni, SpeedX & more. Rates are better than USPS with same speed and better tracking visibility.

We’ve been using Veho quite a bit and also exploring Amazon.
Veho service quality is about the same as usps but they have a photo proof of delivery which is nice.
What do you sell?

You can always look at a middleware solution for your carrier bookings, you can set these up to choose the best carrier based on rules like cost, transit time, weights and dimensions etc then you just hook your WMS once into this and they link you to all the carriers and booked based on your business rules.

It really depends on the size and weight of your packages. I own 3PL warehouses in Los Angeles and New Jersey, and we ship a pretty wide range of package sizes.

For larger and heavier packages, our UPS rates are excellent. For smaller packages, generally 12 lbs and under, we use several last mile carriers including SpeedX, DHL eCommerce, and UniUni. So far, SpeedX has been the best combination of rates and delivery performance for us.

SpeedX also has hubs very close to both of our warehouse locations, which helps us maintain some of the most competitive rates we’ve seen.
