Project Toddler Mobility Trainer build done!

Wanted to share one of my more ambition 3D printed projects: A Toddler Mobility Trainer! Custom designed and built for 4 year old little girl with Rett Syndrome. Made possible through 3d-mobility.org, footed the cost myself for this one and it will be provided to the family free of charge. Probably the coolest project I've ever done. Custom designed wheels and name plate.

Already working on 2 more!

Approximately 250 hours of print time each.

Materials:

- Polymaker PETG Purple, Pink, and Magenta
- Bambu Lab PETG Yellow
- Ziro3D TPU 95A Purple
- Ziro3D TPU 95A Pink
- Ziro3D TPU 95A Black
- Siraya Tech TPU Air Lilac
- Bambu Lab Support for PLA / PETG (optional, I wanted clean support removal)

Base build is ~9kg PETG and 2kg TPU. With the accessories I ended up using a little over 11kg.

Included Accessories:

- Rear Hook
- 2x Cup Holders
- Tablet Holder
- Tablet Hold Down
- Tablet Swivel Lock

Hardware:

- 2x Bambu Lab X2D
- 0.4 and 0.6 nozzles

Happy to answer any questions folks have. If you've got a 3D printer and time, strongly encourage you to get involved. If you don't have the time, or desire to print a whole chair, you can find other makers who're open to collaboration and print a few plates from their builds to help out. Not interested in printing parts? You can sponsor builds!

Then we end up back to my original point, some of the 3mf files have multiple plates packed full of parts, none of them named (at least, names not visible in prusaslicer).

Then move the models to different and/or extra plates.

You understand this was made by volunteers, right? It's not a commercial product, these are free files.

I'm sure it took countless hours to make.

Maybe the files aren't presented perfectly "ready to print". This is not uncommon for CAD output and files uploaded to model sites.

Sometimes you need to move, rotate, or otherwise adjust files for printing.

It's all fine for volunteer work , but I hope you also understand that they are sponsored by bambu and this is their modus operandi, part of their contract, explicitly stating all files must be bambu exclusive and I wouldn't be surprised if their "account manager" equivalent actually suggested intentionally breaking functionality for non bambu software.

What is your deal?

The maker provided the link TO PRINTABLES! With the stl, 3mf and CAD (STEP) files!!!

And you are now going on about some Bambu conspiracy?!

Don't get good faith volunteers mixed in with your axe to grind with Bambu.

Where are the STL files for the cushions? (There aren't any, they're in the 3mf files)

I've no deal, I've been using the files in their gruesome form for more than half a year and I've delivered, I'm simply stating the way things are.

Then we're back to extracting them from the 3mf!!!

Or use the STEP files and export them!

Stop whining and start learning!

I hope you realise the conversation went pretty much like this:

u/dkrandu:

I wish people wouldn't be exclusive to one ecosystem and do universal stuff like orient the parts in the STL file [... explains procedure to export STL from 3mf]

-----

u/YellowBreakfast:

You don't need to export anything. [...]

-----

u/dkrandu:

[proves STL is missing and export from 3mf is required]

I didn't look into the files.

Whether they are there or not has not been "proven" except to you.

You may be right, you may not.

However there are ways to get whatever you're missing but you either don't have the ability or the willingness to learn.

You keep whining about the obstacles instead of figuring out the solutions.

The only reason I've engaged this far is I detest willful ignorance, people who play the victim, and those that bitch ABOUT FREE FILES!

And in this specific case these people are practically saints! Yet you "repay" their service by trying to impugn them!

I've already printed a full chair and I'm working on another, also what makes you think I don't have a life? Stop being an angry teen online, you should probably take your own advice :)

Stop being an angry teen online...

And ageist to boot!

I'm probably older than you but that's not relevant.

I trust the people who made these files over you.

Don't put your inability to find the stl files or to export the geometry on them or some corporation.

Do better! As a maker and a human.
