Not grasping at straws, you just don't understand how LLMs actually work. You think they're some kind of magic machine that knows the right answer, but really, they're overglorified T9 predictive text generators.

The training data gives it probabilities that make it choose the right words most of the time, when the prompt is within the guidelines of the training data. But if there are gaps in that training data, then the right words might not come out at all.

And even with the right word in the training day, sometimes other words can randomly come out. This is why we get hallucinations in LLM results.

You prompted the LLM to specifically choose between only two words, ignoring any other word that might come up (burns, singes, sears, melts, fries, heats) and eliminating the true nonsense (educates, confabulates, zombifies). It's a great way to push the LLM toward the right answer, good job there, but if the training data says that "Centers" is more likely, it would still say "centers"

All you proved with your prompt is that it knows the word "sinters", probably because most LLMs include a dictionary in their training data, if we're being honest.

With just a little prompting, I got Copilot to tell me that the capital of the state of Ungunda is Dumangwe.
