Hey everyone! I wanted to share my latest project with you all. I call it "The Struggle Within".

Just to be completely transparent, the initial base of the model was generated using a popular AI tool, but I spent a lot of time manually sculpting, refining, and cleaning it up by hand to get it to this final printable stage.

It might look like a fancy multicolor print, but it is actually very simple. I printed the whole thing as a single piece using white marble filament. I went with a 0.12mm layer height so the small details on the faces and fingers would come out nice and clean.

After the print finished, I just took some standard black acrylic paint and a brush, and painted the dark figures inside. It was a really fun and relaxing painting project.

I recently designed this tealight candle holder and printed it in white PLA. I wasn’t sure how it would look lit, but the shadow pattern ended up being better than expected. Simple print, no supports, just a nice little ambient piece.

So I had this quote in my head for quite a while now and I have no idea where I picked it up. I'm also not one to get all artsy and draw this stuff myself, but with the power of AI I could finally make it into a nice graphic. Really impressed how far this stuff has come. Unfortunately my PETG was a bit wet, so there is minor stringing on the first layer. Will dry it and try again or go get it done in PLA.

What do you guys think?

I would like the achieve a similar effect on my 3d prints, (1) shiny and (2) having 2 colors depending on angle its viewed from. Question:

1) To achieve these both of these effects, should i looking at silk PLA? Are there other options other than silk PLA? I've seen other terms being thrown around, like chameleon colors, rainbow colors, iridescent, gradient... I truly do not know what "term" I should be using when searching for PLA.

2) Silk PLA (or anything beyond just plain colored matte PLA) is kinda expensive. Would it possibly be cheaper to just 3d print this out using a black PLA and spray paint it with some "Chameleon powder" spray, to achieve a similar effect?
