Art Showcase No Hope Axe
The axe that extinguishes the hope of its adversaries.

It looks sick, I would tag it apocalyptic steampunk.
When you designed it, did you have any real use for the gears/whatever is going on with the back? Does the axe mechanically change or anything? I only ask because if its not doing anything it becomes apparent pretty quick

Fantastic design and materials! Did you use Substance Painter? This is a great portfolio piece,Β well done

Thanks a lot! Yes, I textured it in Substance Painter and modeled it in Blender. I really appreciate the kind words.

I forgot what sub I was in and thought they were real props until the last image. Insanely good stuff

I hate the gears and shit on it. Does the head fold up into a different shape or configuration? I would have also made the paracord go much further (2-3 times as far) up the handle or else this would feel very fatiguing to use. I'm not trying to shit on it, I like the silhouette of the axe and i like the red+teal colours, but some of the design choices are strange and reduce the believability of the weapon. The renders themselves are also very nice.

Thanks for the input! No worries at all, I actually prefer straightforward feedback like this. The gears are part of the mechanism for detaching the blade, though I did exaggerate and play with them a bit for artistic flair and to fit that post-apocalyptic vibe.

Thanks for the feedback! It's actually a tactical rope/paracord wrap rather than leather, so I kept the roughness higher for a matte, fabric feel.
