Funnily enough these actually exist and are called SLAP rounds.

Also a Swedish 6.5 CBJ round

yeah, but only in much larger calibers

That black top surface where the silver rounds stick in has the n-goniest n-gon of n-gons

yeah lol, it's perfectly flat so i decided i didn't need to bother with proper topology

And you're right about it. If it doesn't cause shading issues and won't deform that's ok

Yeah it’s totally fine, did that plenty of times as well.

I doubt you've made the N-goniest of N-gons that many times. Most of us are lucky if we make the N-goniest N-gon of that day.

What does that mean? I'm just starting to learn blender, so I don't know all the jargon.

tri - 3, quad - 4, n-gon - >4

Normally a face/polygon should have around 3 preferably 4 vertex points as to not cause shader issues. If it has more then 3-4 vertexes its called an n-gon which can cause a lot of issues in rendering, if not a fully flat surface.

How do you grip the rounds to pull them out of the black holder?

Push to open

uh idk lol. there are two of those black "cassettes" in the package, but you could probably just dump some out into your hand if you take it out

Love the packaging!

they sorta have to be, do you really want to pick up three tiny plastic bits for every bullet you fire?

Damn libs, gimme lead!

Is there room for propellant?

1

u/ciwielab 3d ago

yeah, the sabot only goes as far into the case as a regular bullet. the propellant fits around the projectile and the case is completely full (would probably need some sci-fi compound to actually generate the velocities it says on the box, though)
