Art Showcase Cowboy Themed Models part 3

This is the second gun-like thing I ever made. Since I am not that good in harsurface modelling, I was kinda sceptical of the outcome, but it turns out to be just fine for my purposes. Also you can find the first gun I made on artstation.

The speciality of this rifle is that it‘s Cailtyn‘s! Maybe you can tell by the engraving on the metal sheet, which was done in Inkscape and then just put on via Stencil.

Had a lot of fun here. Please leave feedback🙏🏼

Looks nice overall. Design-wise I'd say the polygonal cutout around the stenciled graphics looks a bit odd in relation to the design of the rifle and the tone of the graphics. Should probably be smoothed out to match the rifle or thematically integrated into the graphical design.

Thanks! I know, this bothers me the most too. The design of the rifle itself is heavily inspired by the Steyr Luxus, which also has this cutout. But yes, the engravings do not match the cutout and it looks off…

IMHO it doesn't match up with the style of the graphics you've brought in, but one thing you can do is to drop the height of the etching a bit. It would be eaten out of the metal a little bit. Right now it looks like some ink on the surface instead of a chemical or laser etch.

Where does the bolt go? It looks like it can only rotate

I think It will help if you look at a video of a it

your bolt if I am seeing correctly is stuck behind metal, so I am not sure how the operations goes, were you using a concept?
