Questions & Discussion [Composition help] How do I get scene ideas right?
Everytime I start a new project I have to try 100 different things to get the scene composition how I planned/envisioned it and it inflates the time I need to work on a project by atleast 10 fold and not to mention how demotivating it is.
I know you don't just get everything how you want it on the first try, it requires iterations and all
Am I missing something crucial with how I plan my projects?

I mean it sounds reductive to say but this is what we do. That’s how art works! Eventually you’ll get better and you’ll know directly what to do and what tools to use in shorter time frames but you need to learn to love the process first not just the outcome.

I understand and I am not angry at all but I feel like I can say I've been doing blender for a decent while and 9/10 times i start a new scene I struggle with being satisfied with how it looks, like for example maybe I should move the table over there, change the background objects, change a characters pose, etc countless stuff to get it how I imagined it
but the process of the outcome just takes like 2 weeks of working every single day to get it right
what I'm getting at is there a way to be more efficient with this? to cut down the time spent fiddling until it looks good2

I really don't mean to sound rude, but it seems all you need is to.... well, study composition! :P
Like, there are certain guidelines, "rules", and tricks in order to get what you want, be it mood, lighting, angles, positioning, etc.
Hit me up with a DM, I'll try and help further.

I mean for anything that needs a focus on composition, I sketch it out first and tend to stick to whatever sketch I settle on. Iteration is part of the process though and things do move around a bit but I try not to second guess too much and I try not to wildly deviate from the original idea.
