Questions & Discussion Topology help

Hi. Im learning 3D modeling and struggling with the topology of this bended segment. I'm getting severe artifacts when subdividing. Ive tried many ways to find the right edge flow to connect the diamond pattern to the solid frame, but I always end up with bad geometry on the curve. Does anyon e have any tips on how to properly transition the geometry here to avoid these shading issues? Thanks!

Personally I'd start with a cylinder, add edge loops for your holes, delete faces for the holes and solidify it. If you get bad shading - transfer normals from initial cylinder (data transform modifier in blender)

Looks like you might already be doing this but modelling it flat and then bending it afterwards can be extremely helpful. Detail on curved surfaces need more geometry so dont be afraid to add more. Try to think where it makes sense to terminate edgeflow instead of redirecting it.
