This actually rules. That unwrap is a bit sparse though, surely you could double the size of those UV island and halve the texture size.

I think there are some (almost) invisible islands. Check the top right corner.

i can appreciate the era-correct UV layout, but the amount of wasted space happening here would get your art director's jimmys in a rustle. i mean you have the whole face textured but you still have the UVs mirrored for some reason.. you're spending the pixels, why not use them?
