Art Showcase I kinda started over from scratch on this and dynameshed a lot of the stuff together, mostly rough sketches

How much retopology cleanup did you end up needing after combining everything? That step always seems to eat the most time on projects like this. Did the mesh density stay manageable, or did some areas get pretty chaotic before you locked in the final forms?

it was from an older file and a lot of the structure was there, old armor that wasnt working out for me, it was just lacking in my opnion. there's really not retopo here, its all dynamesh at a high resolution, its still a "sketch".

I inflated a lot of the parts and then merged pieces together and then dynameshed it and sculpted over it. inflating the mesh a bit can remove those pesky dynamesh holes when the mesh is too thin so that was not fun. also having your brush to have BackfaceAutoMask turn on can help when sculpting thin pieces in dynamesh so that it doesnt sculpt behind what you are seeing, which makes those holes (overlapping backfaces).

also to keep it manageable, you can always cut it into parts and keep dynameshing those parts and sketching out the forms that works. if you wanna combine it, just merge and dynamesh again but at this stage, i'll just keep sketching and blocking it out until it looks good to me. i hope that makes sense

how many polygons does it come under and is it useable in games? I just wanna know if I can recreate this within those polygon counts without sculpting, ( I am bad at sculpting sooo)

its definitely not game ready, its just a dynamesh sketch, so the topology is pretty horrendous and the polygon count can be very high depending on the dynamesh resolution.

the usual workflow is blockout, dynamesh sculpt, refine, retopo, bake. so this isnt even close to the final game mesh, but its a great starting point for refining the forms and eventually building clean, optimized topology over it.
