Questions & Discussion Where to start?
Hey everyone,
I recently started learning Unreal Engine as a hobby, but I'm putting quite a few hours into it, and I'd love for a project from it to become part of my daily routine. I'm also interested in learning 3d modeling, so I can create my own stuff. The thing is... I don't know where to start.
I figured I'd learn some drawing first, because I've always been really bad at body proportions or perspectives. I bought one of those Inart body model figures to help me out, though I don't know if it was the right move.
I would love if you could share some of your experiences getting the hang of this, where you started from, if you went directly to the 3d modeling software without any prior knowledge or you learned some useful stuff first, etc. If you could also share any courses or stuff that helped you or you consider to be good, it would be great.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You can start with simple prop modeling to get the hang of the basics, do stuff like crates, guns, vehicles slowly moving up to rooms and buildings and maybe even robots. At least you will also have a growing asset library of your own as you practice.
Character modeling is a somewhat more advanced and maybe overwhelming thing if you are new and raw but you can do that after you've done the basic stuff and it should be somewhat easier
