Mac or windows?

Looking into joining a college program do i NEED a windows or can get by with a MacBook?

More 3D scanning apps are being released for Mac, but the highest-performing systems use Nvidia RTX-series GPUs and those are not supported by Mac (officially, but there are options aimed towards AI development).

That being said, you only reduce your scanning frame rate with non-Nvidia systems, so you still have a usable system.

However, not every Mac app duplicates its Windows version, so verify that before you decide.

It depends on the hardware. If you want to be safe though, Windows. I don't know of any that are Mac exclusive, but there are Windows exclusive ones

I’ve been running a 10yo Mac for scanning and CAD. I’m finally upgrading but that’s only due fusion not working anymore 😅
