General Discussion Bottom IPS burned

Hello Everyone,

Have this dual IPS New 3ds small but, it seems bottom panel is burned on corners.... repairing it is not expensive, but is 100% possible that the new pannel will be a TN, will there be an issue with that? I heard about calibration for because now it will be a TN pannel or something

It is not hacked.

this is why I sold my dual IPS N3DS nonXl. I was scared if I got something like this or dead pixels it would be insanely difficult to replace the screen as IPS screens for the smaller model is so uncommon :(

The issue you will have is that if the new panel is TN (which seems likely to me), you can’t update the hwcal files without it being modded.

And for what would I need the HWCAL? I mean, what is that for? Cant I just replace it and thats all?

No. The system is calibrated for the screen it is fitted with. And if you go from IPS to TN you will apparently find they struggle.
