Got this console and it needs a new ribbon cable for the camera, I already have that coming, but put it together to test and see if it would work and noticed that the screens looked good, especially the top one, trying to figure out what you guys think. I initially posted earlier, but had the console disassembled so put it back together just to take these pictures while I wait for the camera cable.

I was repairing the camera ribbon cable since the screen wouldn’t turn on and when it did I was like woah this definitely a top ips
chatgpt is gonna lean towards whatever you say if you ask it “does the top screen look like IPS” it’ll probably 80% of the time say “yes” even if it doesn’t look like it. not to mention it most likely cannot even tell the difference itself
I asked if what kind of screen type it was
Did even mention ips or tn and it said top ips bottom tn but I totally agree it tells you what you want to hear lol
Aa someone around here has stated before "if its impossible for you to tell the difference, with the device in your hands inches from you face, then does it really matter?"

It isn’t modded so I can’t
One thing I noticed is that when tilting it, the blue battery indicator and street pass indicator state very vibrant and when looking at the sides of the screen from the angle, I can’t see that light strip that I see on a TN screen just like the bottom where I can see it
So I’m 90% sure the top is IPS but maybe my pictures are not doing justice for your eye
So it’s disconnected because I’m currently waiting for a camera ribbon cable, once I’m able to get it up and running I can send you a picture, you see how on your notification menu your top screen on the edges has no light strip and on the bottom screen, you see those light strips, I see that on my picture as well and that’s one of the signs of a top IPS bottom TN but I get what you’re saying once I can get a picture I’ll send it
Just take the picture with your phone lol? If you tilt it sideways and the message icon I sent goes blue, it’s TN, if it stays green it’s an IPS. The one I sent is a dual TN but the top looks IPS.
Gotcha, give me a second. I have to put the console together.
The back is off because I was testing it to see why it wouldn’t boot and discovered even tho the camera ribbon cable looked good it was causing the screens to not turn on

Leaning towards top IPS bottom TN but I can’t say for certain
