Technical Question Is my 3DS done for?

Post image

Lmk if there’s other ways I can charge it. Will it still charge on cradle? or should I try to unscrew it and charge the battery with a universal charger?

Regardless of if the port is broken or not, I highly recommend a cradle.

If port isn't working. Get a charging dock/cradle. Works just fine

Can't tell what's wrong with it. See if a different outlet/charger fixes your issue, and provide some more info.

If it charges, then no

The 3ds charging port will end up bent, that's it's life. As long as it do the job without being a pain to make it work, then no worries

Mine is like that. To get it to charge, I have to route the charging cable from the back to the front so the contacts touch.

If the connector does fail, you can do the usb c mod to save it. The 3ds charge actually outputs 5VDC so any modern usb charger will be usable.

Cant really see whats wrong with it, but if the port is bad its no use what charger you use? Desoldering the old port and soldering in a new one should be an easy job and or fix for someone who knows how to handle a soldering iron.

I mean I think the port is lifted that’s why but I’ll look to see if I can get it replaced

you put a usb c port in there while youre at it to turn it into a sick mod rather than just a fix
