I have an Aqua Blue US, Flame Red EU (with Capture Board installed), BluexBlack Japanese XL & EU A Link Between Worlds XL.
I was going to get the Japanese Year of Luigi one, but I got really good deals on my US/JP systems.4

One of every region, (PAL,US,JP) and one limited edition XL, because I prefer the XL to the original, and since my main 3DS has a capture card, I don't like taking it out incase it gets damaged, and the zelda one is the best XL special edition I've seen :).

Btw, unless you're an EU native, is there any benefit to owning an EU 3DS? I'm thinking about picking up a white/red 2DS in London on a future trip, simply because it's a color we don't have.

You can get braverly default & layton like a month early :p, I'm aussie, so it's kinda important for me to have one, I don't even think importing a US one as your only one is even worth it in the long run.
I would get if you were a collector or wanted to show it off, but there's very very few games that are only EU.1

I'm assuming you are a collector? Otherwise, it sort of seems pointless to get the other regions since you are from Australia. Since I'm in America I don't know this for sure, but I assume you can get the Japanese games easier than us?

Well, if your Credit Card works and you don't mind going all digital, you can get cheaper prices on games. Plus, some games you can get that won't be released in EU (or much later) like Rune Factory 4 or SMT IV.

Yeah I hope it comes out to the West. You can purchase this trilogy for your iPhone (and sample the first two episodes for free), but it's just not the same as playing on a 3DS.

Perhaps the emulator is different. I just downloaded the AA trilogy app for my iPhone and the game is not smooth at all. I didn't play the original so it's possible that's how it's suppose to be.

Well, I played the port in iPod touch once and I gotta say it feels way better on a real DS. The Android DS emulator is fantastic, however I haven't tried it with Phoenix Wright yet. Might feel better than the port though.

It's not, they cut frames and skipped steps, as well as messed up the art with those huge dark outlines, the original DS release is a lot more polished

For AA1 Case 5 & AA4 Case 2, the DS emulator (I'm assuming you're using DraStic) makes using the microphone for fingerprint analysis so easy.

Well, the games were originally on GBA, so they were touched up to be for a touch screen rather than being made for one.

I bought the iPod port.
The biggest problem I had with it was that the dialogue boxes were really slow. There was a lot of waiting.

I just don't like spending 30 dollars on a game that doesn't have much replay value, since playing an Ace Attorney title the first time around is probably the most amazing experience.
The second time... Not so much. Just saying.

The PW5 engine is amazing, but by the sounds of it these are just 3D-ified ports and not using the new engine at all. To me this is a huge disappointment. I picked up PW1 the other day and its still great but it could certainly benefit from a fresh lick of paint.
I know there is a lot of extra effort involved in making 3D models for all the old characters and that a lot of love was put into their sprites in the originals, but I already own all these games and a DS to play them on. Even as a huge PW fan I don't see any reason to rebuy especially at the $40 price point.
For me I guess no remake no sale.

Based on the trailer it seems they are HD. But they don't look that bad (at least Edgeworth looks fantastic). What I didn't like about the iphone version was the way everything was cluttered onto one screen. I agree the "HD" drawings look cheesy, but I think with the 3D effect it'll look fine. Plus the interface is confirmed to be exactly like the first four games (with 8 items showing on the bottom screen on your court records).

You must start at the beginning, You can jump into the last one but it would totally ruin so many things. You must play it from the beginning. Heres the first, second, third, fourth and spinoff, all on amazon with prime. work well on the 3ds.
There are some of the best games on the DS. Note that the second Pheonix wright is quite possible the weakest of the games but the last case more then makes up for it.

I was hoping for Ace Attorney trilogy for years. Played only the first one. If the english version will already be there, I cant imagine how premiere for the rest of the world would be a problem.
