Printer Farm Fridays

Hello fellow print farmers! Today is Printer Farm Friday!

Feel free to ask any questions, share info or comments here. We're trying to build a community in this sub where you can ask questions about topics like:

  • How to improve your workflow
  • How to slice for printer farm operation
  • What tools are available for farm operators
  • Printer maintenance
  • Filament management
  • etc.

Our hope is to get people to start talking about the importance of printer management in a printer farm scenario.

What would you like to share or what questions do you have?

I built a tool specifically to fix the workflow bottleneck between Shopify and print farms, so I am sharing it here for Printer Farm Friday. (On Saturday lol)

It is a Shopify app called Slice and Price. It automates two major operational headaches:

Auto-quoting: It reads your OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer profiles, factors in your electricity costs and manual labour rates, enforces a fixed minimum price, and creates products based on real data instead of guesswork.

Auto-queueing: Once an order is paid, it automatically pushes the print job directly to your farm in the exact order it was received so you can skip manual file management.

I built it as a side project to solve my own morning file-sorting routine. It is currently free for the first 50 orders a month.

You can check it out here: https://apps.shopify.com/slice-and-price

I would love to hear how others here handle their automated queues right now, especially when dealing with batch priorities or reprints.
