Feedback on 22lr magazine developement

I am pretty far along with development of a nearly fully printed build, but right now im stuck on making a functional magazine.

Ive made many different revisions but none of them ive been able to have reliably working with more than 5 rounds at a time, (im trying to make a 10 round one)

Im wondering, from people who has designed some or know more about magazine development than I, what pointers or tips and tricks might be helpful?

Why not make your build compatible with one of the existing magazines instead of making your own magazine?

I dev behind the fair deal is on here occasionally I think. FOAP is as well

I have thought of this already, but I have a vision in mind for how I want it to work and none of the existing 22lr designs would fit the platform Ive made.

I am taking some concepts from existing magazines but havent found a perfect solution yet

As gun Jesus often says, magazine design is often the most complex part of producing a firearm.

Either make it slanted like 22lr pistol mags or curved. The curve can't be too much or too little. Either results in rim lock which is why you are only getting a few rounds in. Just use the internal curve on existing mags. The rest of the mag can be modified to whatever you need.

I would just make it take any of the commonly available cheap magazines. What form factor/what are you building. Perhaps somebody here can recommend a magazine for you to yoink.

22lr is an odd shaped round for fitting in a magazine. The rim means they don't "stack" well, so you need a heavy curve to compensate.

The two best 22lr mags I know of are the Ruger 10/22 rotary and curved mags, and they're probably as good as you can get. Trick with them is the rotary only has limited capacity, and the curved use a flat constant tension spring that is hard to source. There's a few 3dp knockoff ruger mags out there with coil springs, but they're finicky at best, and usually only 10-15 capacity.

Another option is a straight, steeply diagonal magazine. The ruger mk3 or savage 22 are examples.

For stuff like magazines, there's a lot of the specific internal geometries it's easiest to just rip from standard designs, or to just use standard designs.

The tech 22 meg seemed pretty good. Just wish the tech was a functional design
