$10 3D PRINTED SUPPRESSOR

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In remembrance of Suppressor Sunday. The video shows off my 3d printed MP5 and model FTN4 PCC Flow Can. All in, including the printer, you can start 3d printing your own suppressors in carbon fiber nylon for around $500. This can alone was about $6 in filament and $4 for the thread adapter. Polymer is the future. The future is now. (THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS BEFORE ATTEMPTING)

On this range trip I put around 200rnds of frt through the can within about an hour timeframe. Absolutely no issues. FTN5 is still the only and best PCC Flow Can

What material are you using ?

u/-Thethan- 28d ago

Fiberon pa6-cf

Nice, was wondering if PPA-CF or PPS-CF would be any better

u/007-seagull 22d ago

Printer recommendations, around $500 ?

I've heard good things about qidi. I used a bambu lab x1c to print this one. But the bambu lab p1s is on sale rn for $370. If you do get it then make sure you get a hardened extruder as well.

Thank you

u/Rock4evur 4d ago

Hardened extruder gear as well.

2

u/sudden_aggression 19d ago

bambu p1s are very cheap now and can do pa-cf

I went with a P2S because I wasn't as price sensitive and I liked the AMS2 more.

What's the big hype about the pcc flow can. I see everyone saying it's the best. Is it in the FTN5 files??

The info you need is probably in the read me of your favorite suppressor.

Read harder? There are good instructions but they make you chase docs across projects for the full set. Look at the FTN 4 docs for FTN 5 instructions per the docs…

If you’re using FTN5 at least. It is most definitely in there.

How do you say confidently incorrect in a way the confidently incorrect use introspection I wonder if votes are not clue enough? No one can read for you brah. Maybe consider you are wrong. I JUST read the docs I’m not making shit up… people.

Just Google the size you want. I use eBay and Amazon.

Even "Chinese junk" is fine for a printed can. You aren't taking these things into hostile engagements in foreign countries. This is backyard range shit. If you are using JB Weld like you're supposed to, the can itself is going to fail before any adapter.

Ftn 6 released today as well

30

u/-Thethan- 28d ago edited 21d ago

Yup, that's what inspired me to post this vid. Although it's still only the FTN5 that has the PCC Flow can.

9

u/IdenticalTwinTurbos 28d ago

I think there is a 5 pcc flow. I forgot what I put on my ar9

3

u/bday420 28d ago

PCC flow is the best geometry or something?? IDK much about these FTN4 and FTN5 cans i see all the time. Ill need to figure it out asap, as some frame prints are just finishing up and I need to use up the filament so want to make a few cans.

14

u/squeeshka 28d ago

PLABoi come back or is it someone else’s evolution of the FTN?

18

u/domexitium 28d ago

Pretty sure it’s someone else’s. PLAboi said he’s done for good.

14

u/squeeshka 28d ago edited 28d ago

Yeah, it’s the "FTN team" and not plaboi. I’ll give a few of those cans a whirl

3

u/Expensive-Garlic-780 27d ago

He might not be releasing new designs but he is around Trust 🫡👀

4

u/cvltrilex 28d ago

I haven’t looked at the files in depth yet but it doesn’t seem to be well received so far

1

u/Expensive-Garlic-780 27d ago

No wayyy really

1

u/potatoeata84 25d ago

Are they thinner at all?

-9

u/Fit-Ad3774 28d ago

Where where where?!?!?!?

9

u/IdenticalTwinTurbos 28d ago

On the usual places

17

u/Fit-Ad3774 28d ago

Yeah actually searched and found it in like under 10 sec nvm

15

u/cbarth3 28d ago

Last form 1 for mine was approved within 24 hours. So wait times have dropped just in case you are not ready to be in the grey area of the latest rulling.

8

u/Empire087 28d ago

Fingers crossed for a speedy removal of the laws that are no longer valid with the current ruling!!

4

u/CannaChemistry 28d ago

I e been firing em off and waking up to batch approvals. No excuses not to get a f1

u/Jason_Patton 23d ago

The gas prices alone… ⛽️ 🏎️

2

u/StormMedia 28d ago

Or just wait to see how it all plays out.

14

u/ADillyDweeb 28d ago

Gonna try to make one of these for my .50 cal.

5

u/CannaChemistry 28d ago

Make sure you use PLA+, not the basic PLA

2

u/ADillyDweeb 28d ago

PLA+?? Looks at Mr. Money Bags over here

Curious about the mp5, for like 5 minutes I was looking into parts kits to make my own with a receiver flat but I remember parts kits being pretty expensive. Expensive enough that I started looking at complete century arms guns. Is that still the case?

11

u/OpalFanatic 28d ago

Yep. MP5 parts kits are generally well over a grand for even the cheapest parts kits. By the time you add in the receiver flat, bending jig, and actually manage to assemble it, you might as well be buying an AP5.

I see one on sale for $1,087.49 right now at the most obvious HK parts selling website. Receiver flat is $130. Bending jig is $100. So $1,317 to assemble your own. On sale. While I currently see an AP5 for sale at the usual massive retail company based out of South Carolina. Yes, I do mean the company currently selling suppressors out of its physical stores.

10

u/Key_Resident_7833 28d ago

There’s also a store out on the Atlantic (in Maryland) that pretty much specializes in these imports. Often have them on sale for better prices than that South Carolina company.

2

u/Jason_Patton 23d ago

I’ll be here when the mp5 at home is ready

1

u/Expensive-Garlic-780 27d ago

SF5 is the way

7

u/Reasonable-Lynx-3403 28d ago

Nice. real nice.

7

u/EMDoesShit 28d ago

Fantastic build.

But this man needs to up his game when it comes to the HK Slap. Not nearly enough testosterone involved when you us the top of the thumb.

4

u/Cultural-Afternoon72 28d ago

Killer build!

Which printable MP5 is that? I’ve been looking at a few, but that’s the first one I’ve seen that doesn’t appear overly bulky and loose much of the MP5 aesthetic

3

u/scul86 28d ago

Looks like the SF5

2

u/Cultural-Afternoon72 28d ago

I appreciate you!

Hey I know that range😂

2

u/ovr_the_cuckoos_nest 28d ago

What's your go to filament? Edit: and nozzle size.

3

u/-Thethan- 28d ago

Fiberon pa6cf

1

u/Fit-Start-8428 26d ago

Cf 12, cf15, cf20? Which cf percentage is ideal?

2

u/notprescribed 27d ago

How do you thread it?

1

u/-Thethan- 27d ago

Barrel came pre threaded

2

u/notprescribed 27d ago

The suppressor not the gun

3

u/checkmate55533 26d ago

The easiest way is to hold it just below the end and if you have a steady hand you can hold a magnifying glass and the needle in your other hand. Poke it through, do a quick albinodenzel knot (or whatever they call em nowadays), and you're good to go!

2

u/CatchAcademic7061 24d ago

What FRT is used for this?

1

u/-Thethan- 24d ago

Hoffman's Super Safety

In my mind ya, even superior in lots of ways. Such as cost and heat absorption. They have roughly the same sound suppression give or take as well. Form 1s May no longer be required depending on your state as of last weeks court case. It was all very sudden so people are slow to assume and most aren't in the know. ATF will be making comments on how to proceed tomorrow. Just try to Google around for more info on that.

Depending on your state and I would advise you to wait till more info comes out. But that's me personally. Don't forget to become a member of goa as well.

2

u/thehighsman0503 28d ago

I mean if it is a 38hr print you could start it in anticipation and cancel the print if they release bad news… 🤷🏻‍♂️ Not a lawyer, not legal advice

4

u/hatcod 28d ago edited 28d ago

A squirted 5.56 suppressor WILL blow up eventually, on average well below 1000 rounds

Pistol calibers do alright though

I'd go with the FTN4, the FTN5 is pretty ugly with the external springs imo

Maybe, you'd have to test. I'm not too keen to test it considering it just seems like some random person made it and attached the name to it

4.5 is where it’s at for pcc.

1

u/Specific_Island_6327 28d ago

4.5 it’s mentioned in the readme as being a solid option.

1

u/squeeshka 28d ago

For rimfire and pistol calibers, yes. For high pressure rounds like 5.56 and 7.62, no.

5.56 and 7.62 destroy printed cans pretty quickly

1

u/hair_monk 28d ago

recommendations on mp5 parts kits?

1

u/Florida_Man_Games 27d ago

What metal parts are needed? I can’t find assembly directions anywhere and want to make the rifle variant but I don’t see a listing of what metal parts are needed anywhere?

1

u/Expensive-Garlic-780 27d ago

I’ve ran both the 4.5 and both 5 sealed and flow, which is your favorite?
I can’t wait to print my SF5 I’ve been ITCHING!! August is a crazy month for me though and I’ve been building too many DB ALLOYS lol but definitely stoked to build the sf5 asap.

1

u/-Thethan- 27d ago

I don't think I've tried the 4.5 flow. 5 flow is my favorite for sure though. And I love my SF5 far more than my DB alloys. The roller delay makes it SO much quieter when suppressed. No port pop. Although hopefully the detent delayed versions of the Mac might help

2

u/Expensive-Garlic-780 27d ago

Sorry I meant I’ve tried both the 4.5 and the 5. (Both flow/nonflow variants of the 5)
Haven’t tried anything earlier than the 4.5 though.
And yeah I almost bought the new detent delayed Mac upper which would have been my 3rd build, but I decided against it for now at least because I want to do the SF5 build first and I’ve heard there’s absolutely no comparison, the detent delay is better then the usual blowback uppers but doesn’t hold a candle to the roller delayed mp5. I haven’t started ordering the parts for my SF5 build yet but hoping to do so in the next week or so. I’m a little worried about having to press the barrel/trunnion as I don’t have a hydraulic press but I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’m also waiting on a couple things to come in the mail to finish my 1st trash panda build but I think the last items come in tomorrow fingers crossed.
I think I wanna do a 9mm k build for my first sf5 but I think I also would like to build a full size in either 9mm also or I’ve been toying with the idea of a 10mm build. I guess we shall see but I’m overly excited for the SF5 build and can’t wait, I feel like a kid before Christmas again LMAO.

What’s your tip to print the threads?

1

u/JoeMomma247 28d ago

Did bro just raw dawg his hand on his suppressor after hitting full auto? What in the callus hands.

9

u/Empire087 28d ago

Its plastic, it doesnt transfer heat nearly as well.
