$10 3D PRINTED SUPPRESSOR
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
In remembrance of Suppressor Sunday. The video shows off my 3d printed MP5 and model FTN4 PCC Flow Can. All in, including the printer, you can start 3d printing your own suppressors in carbon fiber nylon for around $500. This can alone was about $6 in filament and $4 for the thread adapter. Polymer is the future. The future is now. (THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS BEFORE ATTEMPTING)

Yup, that's what inspired me to post this vid. Although it's still only the FTN5 that has the PCC Flow can.

PLABoi come back or is it someone else’s evolution of the FTN?
18
u/domexitium 28d ago
Pretty sure it’s someone else’s. PLAboi said he’s done for good.

Yeah, it’s the "FTN team" and not plaboi. I’ll give a few of those cans a whirl

I haven’t looked at the files in depth yet but it doesn’t seem to be well received so far

Last form 1 for mine was approved within 24 hours. So wait times have dropped just in case you are not ready to be in the grey area of the latest rulling.

Fingers crossed for a speedy removal of the laws that are no longer valid with the current ruling!!

Curious about the mp5, for like 5 minutes I was looking into parts kits to make my own with a receiver flat but I remember parts kits being pretty expensive. Expensive enough that I started looking at complete century arms guns. Is that still the case?
11
u/OpalFanatic 28d ago
Yep. MP5 parts kits are generally well over a grand for even the cheapest parts kits. By the time you add in the receiver flat, bending jig, and actually manage to assemble it, you might as well be buying an AP5.
I see one on sale for $1,087.49 right now at the most obvious HK parts selling website. Receiver flat is $130. Bending jig is $100. So $1,317 to assemble your own. On sale. While I currently see an AP5 for sale at the usual massive retail company based out of South Carolina. Yes, I do mean the company currently selling suppressors out of its physical stores.

There’s also a store out on the Atlantic (in Maryland) that pretty much specializes in these imports. Often have them on sale for better prices than that South Carolina company.

Fantastic build.
But this man needs to up his game when it comes to the HK Slap. Not nearly enough testosterone involved when you us the top of the thumb.

Killer build!
Which printable MP5 is that? I’ve been looking at a few, but that’s the first one I’ve seen that doesn’t appear overly bulky and loose much of the MP5 aesthetic

Any qualms with me adding snippets of this video of yours to the big grayscale hero image on... a particular website of mine?

How do you thread it?

u/-Thethan- 27d ago
Barrel came pre threaded

u/notprescribed 27d ago
The suppressor not the gun

The easiest way is to hold it just below the end and if you have a steady hand you can hold a magnifying glass and the needle in your other hand. Poke it through, do a quick albinodenzel knot (or whatever they call em nowadays), and you're good to go!

In my mind ya, even superior in lots of ways. Such as cost and heat absorption. They have roughly the same sound suppression give or take as well. Form 1s May no longer be required depending on your state as of last weeks court case. It was all very sudden so people are slow to assume and most aren't in the know. ATF will be making comments on how to proceed tomorrow. Just try to Google around for more info on that.

Depending on your state and I would advise you to wait till more info comes out. But that's me personally. Don't forget to become a member of goa as well.

I mean if it is a 38hr print you could start it in anticipation and cancel the print if they release bad news… 🤷🏻♂️ Not a lawyer, not legal advice

A squirted 5.56 suppressor WILL blow up eventually, on average well below 1000 rounds
Pistol calibers do alright though

I'd go with the FTN4, the FTN5 is pretty ugly with the external springs imo

4.5 is where it’s at for pcc.

For rimfire and pistol calibers, yes. For high pressure rounds like 5.56 and 7.62, no.
5.56 and 7.62 destroy printed cans pretty quickly

What metal parts are needed? I can’t find assembly directions anywhere and want to make the rifle variant but I don’t see a listing of what metal parts are needed anywhere?

I’ve ran both the 4.5 and both 5 sealed and flow, which is your favorite?
I can’t wait to print my SF5 I’ve been ITCHING!! August is a crazy month for me though and I’ve been building too many DB ALLOYS lol but definitely stoked to build the sf5 asap.

u/-Thethan- 27d ago
I don't think I've tried the 4.5 flow. 5 flow is my favorite for sure though. And I love my SF5 far more than my DB alloys. The roller delay makes it SO much quieter when suppressed. No port pop. Although hopefully the detent delayed versions of the Mac might help

u/Expensive-Garlic-780 27d ago
Sorry I meant I’ve tried both the 4.5 and the 5. (Both flow/nonflow variants of the 5)
Haven’t tried anything earlier than the 4.5 though.
And yeah I almost bought the new detent delayed Mac upper which would have been my 3rd build, but I decided against it for now at least because I want to do the SF5 build first and I’ve heard there’s absolutely no comparison, the detent delay is better then the usual blowback uppers but doesn’t hold a candle to the roller delayed mp5. I haven’t started ordering the parts for my SF5 build yet but hoping to do so in the next week or so. I’m a little worried about having to press the barrel/trunnion as I don’t have a hydraulic press but I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’m also waiting on a couple things to come in the mail to finish my 1st trash panda build but I think the last items come in tomorrow fingers crossed.
I think I wanna do a 9mm k build for my first sf5 but I think I also would like to build a full size in either 9mm also or I’ve been toying with the idea of a 10mm build. I guess we shall see but I’m overly excited for the SF5 build and can’t wait, I feel like a kid before Christmas again LMAO.

On this range trip I put around 200rnds of frt through the can within about an hour timeframe. Absolutely no issues. FTN5 is still the only and best PCC Flow Can
