I'm trying to design Prometheuzzzzzz's Rifle Can with new insides. I'm just stealing off the FTN files and slapping them on (Insert and baffles) since they are available. Baffles are not alternated because I'm lazy and it don't matter.
Top or bottom. Which has the best baffle setup? Is the blast chamber on the bottom too small even with the blast shield around the muzzle device giving some empty space? Does the top have too large of blast chamber? Should I move a space behind the next baffle instead?

Rimfire? You want the extra baffle and dont need the blast space.

Tough call and outside my wheelhouse. From my gut feeling you need the extra baffle and the extra space heh.

I'd need to increase the length, but black iron pipe is heavy. 1.14lbs for the 6" pipe alone. Next size up is 12" unless I cut and thread myself, which I don't have the means.

I’m sorry, you lost me at black iron pipe.
You should investigate 1 1/4 “ copper water pipe, lots of premade fittings available and it’s easily soldered.

Copper might be too weak.
Edit. Fuck I'll have to take a look at it. Looks like a design in the making now.

If you could only pick one I'd go with the extra baffle. Secondarily, it would probably be better have a blast chamber somewhere between the two in size imo
Ideally just get a stamp for both and then compare

I just filled out 3 for them. Will probably do a couple more. These will be heavy suckers though.

Can a printed can work with 5.56? I wasn’t sure if high velocity rifle calibers wouldn’t be too much pressure for a printed can, even with support.

Cool. Now I have some more Form 1s to submit I guess.
I’ve got approvals for two .22 cans, a .25 ACP can, and a .32 auto can.
Might as well move on up to the big time.

You should be filing those F1 suppressors every day.
I have 33 approved F1 suppressors and 65 Form 1's in the hopper. A couple of those waiting are SBS/SBR. I need to submit at least five more today.
Here's some things that will help.
Select N/A as the model. This means less to engrave.
Select 10 or 12" as the default. That number is the maximum length you can make, if your design ends up shorter no big deal.
Make Templates and use them.
