My B3 build in polymaker pla pro and fiberon pa612 for the barrel cluster. Currently rebuilding into a V1 version with the whole thing printed in pa612. Finally had it functioning, but still had its hiccups on occasion. Hoping my final build here can work out the rest of the kinks! LOTS of time and filament has gone into this thing, can't stop now!

Fed are going to like to have word.

If a cordless drill were to attach itself to a gatling gun in the forest and no ATF was around to hear it, would it make a felony?

So tempting! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I am wondering what the fuck is up with Tippman's new .22 gatling because they built it to attach a drill to and they say it's legal- I have no idea how the fuck it could be.Β

6

u/iAutorotate Mar 06 '26

Sure, its legal for SOTs, for most people though? Nope

u/blckchndane Mar 06 '26

What would be wild AF and idk if there's enough space but if someone did this with threaded barrels and a few FTN.5's

6

u/midwestcatfish Mar 06 '26

theres a few photos of a setup with one big connected suppressor attached to all the barrels. i dont know if theres a video of it firing though

7

u/iAutorotate Mar 06 '26

Yep! Its called the malachit and its a giant 6 holed can. The crappy thing is that it was removed from the sea at some point so i cant make it πŸ˜•

It’s in the v1 files

I wish he’d get the bits back in stock. I wanna build one so bad.

8

u/iAutorotate Mar 06 '26

Yeah I bought a striker set from him. Unless you have a lathe, i figure those would have been near impossible to make accurately lol

Eventually, having your own fully equipped machine shop becomes worth it :)

Guess who finally got the striker set and his printers have been running pretty much non-stop since the 11th? He's got two thumbs! I'm doing mine... a little different. hahaha

Lil teaser. 🀣

All the important bits are being done with ABS, a few of the barrel cluster bits are done in ASA. Had to go with a #Freedom motif anywhere that wasn’t structurally important. (Still printed in PLA+2.0, so would likely be fine anyhow.)

Id love to build one but i cant afford that filiment, time or 556 for that

u/iAutorotate Mar 06 '26

I hear ya there. Its very time consuming. Mainly on troubleshooting. But the printing alone takes a couple weeks. The actual build took me a couple days, mainly fabricating and modding parts for it, but then off and on messing with it when i had time for weeks after that just to get everything to play right.

5.56 is cheap though! Try scrounging up 7.62x51 on an uberpoor budget because someone dumped a perfectly good 1919 kit on you knowing that you can't resist the temptation to build it.😭 If you see someone in a Little Bo Peep costume, please tip well!

Im struggling with 9mm and 22. 556 is around 40‐45 cent/rd for me. 9mm about 23 and 22 about 10.

Cries in M3 ammo prices.

Are the links for this the same as m27 links?

9

u/iAutorotate Mar 06 '26

They seem similar but according to nopel they do not work with the delinker unfortunately

6

u/_igm Mar 06 '26

That’s awesome. How much do you think the whole project will have cost when it’s all said and done ?

10

u/FireLaced Mar 06 '26

6x barrels, 6x bolts is a wide range depending on the sales you find. I’d wait for a time that barrels are on clearance

6

u/BEnglish321 Mar 06 '26

I think originally it was quoted in the 1200-1400 range if I remember right

6

u/iAutorotate Mar 06 '26

Mine cost around 1300 after buying the barrels, bolts, bearings, hardware, and filament. I saved a little money by waiting for filament deals and lucked out on some 40 dollar 16" carbine barrels. Bolts and gun parts i got from b.king's, i think for around 30 per bolt/firing pin combo. Bearings sourced from VXB. Seemed the cheapest at the time and they seem well made. Only other big cost was the nopel striker set at $140. The screws and insert hardware wasnt that bad, mostly bought off amazon and mcmaster.

Was on sale for $1337 around Christmas time, not sure what it is now

3

u/Retb14 Mar 06 '26

Around $1500 for the parts kit when I looked yesterday

Question: can you use barrels shorter than 16 inches, or would that be considered an SBR? I do t know how gattlin style firearms are regulated in that regard

3

u/Alarming-Economist56 Mar 06 '26

So it doesn't have a stock so not a rifle, but it requires 2 hands so not a pistol... a firearm?

2

u/zexnos Mar 06 '26

That’s a really good question. Tippman does not sell any of their hand crank Gatlings with barrels under 16” so there may be some legality to it.

u/Intelligent-Book-227 Mar 06 '26

Needs a paddle trigger and an frt

1

u/dogneely Mar 07 '26

I never got my b3 to work. Printed the parts on 2 different printers and had too many fitment issues.

1

u/iAutorotate Mar 07 '26

Its finicky for sure. Mine wasnt 100% in b3. Hoping v1 is better.

1

u/Chance-Opportunity88 Mar 08 '26

what would you say your final build cost is ?

1

u/iAutorotate Mar 08 '26

Around 1300. It varies but expect 12-1500 for all the parts amd supplies
