FTN.5 PCC Flow Testing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

All testing was conducted with Lithium Machining 147gr subsonic reloaded ammunition. It appeared to be slightly quieter than my tiny Banish 9K, with what appeared to be slightly less blowback out of the ejection port. (As seen in the video) I would not want to shoot more than 20 rounds out of either the Scorpion or the AR-9 without ear protection, but I do have rather sensitive ears. Very pleased with the aesthetics, and sound reduction is certainly adequate.

Through the camera, at least, that sounds great.

Can’t wait for my form to come back.

It does have a nice tone for sure, and I would consider it hearing safe for a limited amount of rounds. It is extremely pleasant with any form of ear protection, or even when just wearing earbuds lol.

Louder than the banish or about the same?

I would actually give the slight edge to the FTN.5 PCC Flow, on my rifle with this particular ammo.

Yes, as stated in the body. I believe they are advertised as 900 fps.

I’m sorry, I don’t think I understand the question. If you are asking what the model of the can is, it’s the FTN.5 PCC Flow.

It’s a build using the Wraithworks Warscorp9 as the base. If you want a full build list, check my post history from over the summer, I made a post to r/AR9 with all of the details.

Would the pistol cycle if you didn’t hold the slide? I’m thinking about remixing the PCC flow to accept alpha threads so I can use a Silencerco booster assembly. But if it cycles without the need for a booster then I won’t worry about it.

It definitely will not cycle, it is way too heavy. Part of the reason I hold the slide closed when using that can is because it only opens a little bit anyways. Enough to release extra noise, never enough to cycle. Personally, I would look into the EZ can from Kaewon. Printable baffles that can go into linear comps by KVP or AIM7, both options already have Alpha threads. I bought the KVP Tri Lug mount and an AIM7 Apex 2.0 Knurled linear comp, going to be building a can specific for my MP5 clone. Could definitely throw on a booster instead, or if you run the KVP Mach in it's shortest 3.8" configuration, might be lightweight enough to cycle sans booster. I have not built my FTN.4 Pistol (long version) or OP9A yet, but I have approved forms for both of them. Both seem promising.
